I bought this to upgrade my 9-year old's MX350. After a year of hard use and a growth spurt, the bike lost the ability to hold a charge and became a little boring for him. He rides it around the house and residential neighborhood but has a little more skill on a dirt bike than most 9-year olds. He rides a gas powered Honda 50, and higher powered machines (with shifting) on weekends. So I will say, this upgrade is for advanced riders only. The bike does not have significantly more torque but it is much faster on the top end. Advanced installers might want to consider adding a potentiometer for less advanced riders if this route is chosen. It is quite fast... be carefull when using this to upgrade the MX350. It is probably best used to replace the controller in an SX500 and MX650, as recommended by the manufacturer. With me coaching, my son was able to install this by himself with a couple of t-handle allen wrenches, zip ties, a piece of foam from the packaging and only required assistance in changing the battery plug (soldering and heat shrinking the wires) to connect with the 36v 8amp hour battery we bought to go with it. We did not replace the motor... I do expect that stock MX350 motor not to last with the increased voltage, but we will cross that bridge later. The XIKOBY Controller fit perfectly beside the battery pack we purchased in the OEM location. Note, we did have to salvage the OEM connector to connect it to the controller. We used pieces of the foam from the packaging to pad the battery and controller on the bottom and between the controller and battery, which were mounted side by side using the OEM battery tiedown bracket. Everything else was plug and play. You will have one extra brake cut-off wiring harness (labeled E-Handle Brake Connector) that will be unused as well as the charging input harness (labeled "C-Charger Port") that will be unused. The battery we bought has its own charging lead, which we routed out of the top of the battery cover to be connected externally and separatly. The OEM on/off switch on the top of the "gas tank" will not be used after installing. This is my only criticism... There is no on/off switch. The throttle assembly is nice and added a display of battery level "Full" and "Low" is great and will let you know when it is time to charge. However, it is always on. I wish there were an on/off switch to turn the system off when not in use. The LED indicators do not draw much current but will drain the battery if left idle for periods of time. We added an aftermarket on/off switch in line with the main battery lead, but this takes a bit of technical know how to drill a hole and install a switch. It is fine without it, but does cause potential for there to be a draw on the battery when not in use. My son loves the increased power that the 36V offers. It is a high quality unit and relatively simple to install. The hardest part is putting the motor cover back together. All wires (except the brake cable), route out of the top of the gray battery cover, including the motor lead. I would highly recommend this product. With a little patience, even a novice mechanic could figture it out. If there were an on/off switch, it would get the 5th star from me. Use to upgrade the MX350 at your own risk!

Perfect!!! Installed this unit on my son’s razor MX350 dirt bike. with two 20v Dewalt batteries on the 24v stock motor this thing is way faster. But I’ll be swapping the 24v motor for a 36v 1000w motor in the future.

It plugs in fine to our razor quad, however the controller stops working. I have a 36v battery connected, it seems to work fine, however once my son starts moving after 10 feet it stops working. I have checked with a multimeter and my battery is good. You then turn off the bike, turn it back on and the same issue happens.
