A: The difference between the BR and CR is the BR is rated for extreme weather. It is used in transponders located in vehicles. The temperature in vehicles can get high in summer and very cold in winter. 
Using a CR in a device requiring BR will shorten the life of the battery and may cause leakage. The BR will work for a CR device. Using a CR in a BR device will have a shorter life and may damage the device.
