Another Budget Track Mouse worth it's weight!
I have spent most of my life being dedicated to Logitech because of quality and overall feel of their products. When Logitech made changes to their warranty program and my first Trackball Mouse died on me, I took the opportunity to move to a more Budget option that is not going to break the bank if I have to replace it outside of warranty. The last trackball mouse lasted me 3 years and I replaced that one with this one only because the switches wore out before the battery did and the warranty was expired too. I chose this particular one because it is as close to both Logitech and the other companies trackball mouse in form and function. I also decided to change back over to wired after using a wireless device over the past 3 years. My initial impression is relatively positive with a few things I don't care for but don't take away from the overall function of the device. What I do like is how smooth the ball rolls and how responsive the device is to that ball movement. The ability to dial in the sensitivity is a blessing and a curse. It is a blessing if you have a very steady thumb but it's a curse if your thumb tends to jerk on the occasion. The two extra buttons are much better and larger than most that I have seen lately on most of these newer designs. I can actually slide my index finger over to the other 2 buttons without having to look down at the device. I love that it has a USB-C to USB-A adapter attached to the device since I do like to use these devices on my cell phone and on tablets. This is going to sound weird but I wish the device had more weight to it. I have always used devices with some weight to them and these are lighter then I like. I also use this for games such as Minecraft, 7 Days to Die, Timberborn, and it does a good job without any hiccups. Overall I really enjoy this device dispite the weight issue. This, I feel, is a good buy!

Feels ergonomically comfortable and works perfectly smooth. I am very pleased with my purchase.
I had used for almost 20 years the same Logitech tracker ball mouse until recently. It was difficult to find a wired track ball mouse. Most of them are wireless. I am very glad that I came upon the Nulea M509 wired Trackball Mouse. The price was unbelievably inexpensive compared to a similar one from Logitech which is being sold for 3 times as much. I love the Nulea wired Trackball as it feels ergonomically very comfortable and works very smooth as what I have been used to throughout the years. Thank you, Nulea

Solid, affordable - maybe not the best for large hands.
The first one of these I received had problems straight out of the box. The trackball movement was jittery and imprecise (and noisy) and neither the right or left button engaged or disengaged consistently. I spent too long thinking it might be a [re]learning-curve thing, however, and missed the return window, so I wrote a negative review and switched to a different design. The manufacturer reached out to me immediately but their messages got flagged as spam so it was not until an unexpected replacement arrived (today) that I realized that the first M509 trackball had both a defective tracking mechanism (in one of the small bearings that "track" the colored ball) and a problem with both of the button sensors. Short story: if the trackball makes a scrapey noise or it the movement feels at all gritty, there's a problem, and if popping the ball out to clean it doesn't make a difference, you need to return it. And right and left button clicking should work just like they do with any other mouse or trackball: if you have to wait or fidget for something to select ore. de-select, or for a menu to appear, there's a defect and you need to return it. I now have a M509 that works, and I'm pretty happy with it. I've edited out the parts of this review that were specific to the defective trackball, but this design is still much better suited to users with small-to-medium hands. Mine aren't super-large, but I take an (American) XL glove, and for me the track-ball is positioned uncomfortably and unnaturally close to the left button and the other controls. A piano-playing motion is easier on the joints than pinching, too, so what I'd really like here is another inch or two of distance between my thumb and forefinger when I'm using the trackball - that would let my hand stay in a more relaxed and unflexed position.

So good
This bad boy is durable and wonderfully accurate. The wheel moves pretty smoothly, it's beautifully comfortable in my hand, and has helped a lot with my carpal tunnel pain. So nice to try a new brand I've never heard of and have a good experience with it. The inclusion of a USB C to A converter on the wire is awesome.

It works and feels great
Of all the trackball mice that I have tried recently this is my favorite. Fits nicely in the hand. Simple and does what it's supposed to.

Good substitute for the discontinued wired Logitech Trackman
This Nulea wired trackball mouse is very close to my old wired Logitech Trackman, which is no longer made. The feel and thumb-operated design are nearly identical... I honestly can’t tell the difference. Placing both the old and new together, the Nulea is just slightly shorter than the Logitech, and the width is the same. The ball from my Logitech even fits into the Nulea, so I can use it as a spare if the new one gets scratched. I also prefer the black matte finish on the Nulea over the old polished Logitech, and I like being able to change the mouse speed directly on the mouse instead of through OS settings. Movement is smooth, and the scroll wheel is soft and quiet with no loud clicking. The left and right buttons are responsive (unlike my dying Logitech). I can’t reassign the forward/back buttons, but that’s a minor downside. At $25 at the time of writing (Dec 2025), the value is excellent. This is what a mouse like this should cost. I always felt Logitech was overpriced anyway. I’ve only used the Nulea for a day so far, but first impressions are very positive. I used my old Logitech for years, so Nulea has big shoes to fill.

Not worth the money!!
The micro switch for the pointing finger is way to course you really have to PRESS to make contact. Which means you often have to press multiple times to get it to react! Not so great! After approx. 3 month use you need to pull the USB plug out and in the PC to get it working. Turns out to be a real real bad product !

Mouse trackball M509 cablato ergonomico

Superb Trackball: Good Replacement for Intellimouse Explorer Trackball
I am a bit spoiled, trackball-wise. Years ago I bought one of the legendary Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer Trackballs in a shop and I fell in love with it and have used it ever since. It's worked perfectly for all that time. They're supposed to be impossible to replace. A week or so ago I dropped it and one of the buttons broke. Heartbroken. I've just taken this one ("HT Nulea M509 Trackball Mouse Wired") out of its packet, and to my amazement, despite the fact that it's the wrong way round ( the ball's on the thumb while the buttons are under the fingers), I just instantly love it. It took me about a minute to adjust to the new arrangement. I've got the two trackballs side by side and am alternating using them to compare them. The new one is really accurate and its ball is very smooth, it fits my large hand beautifully (I'm a man and I take XL or 9 1/2 gloves), and the buttons are in exactly the right places (better in both placement and function than the buttons on the Intellimouse!) It worked perfectly out of the box with my debian 12.0 laptop, and it's really accurate. Having a wire means no sodding around with bluetooth or batteries or anything like that. It plugs into a standard USB port, but the clever cable means that one day when I upgrade to a laptop with USB-C ports it will be able to come with me. I would say that the trackball's every bit as good as my beloved Intellimouse, and the buttons are better. I actually suspect that as I grow used to the new smaller ball I will grow to prefer it too. I could not be more surprised and pleased. Well done Nulea!
