Simple and easy to use
i am kinda new to blood testing - I had tried before - but the other unit i was using was difficult to use and didnt workout - so i gave up - because i cannot ignore the situation any longer i bought this unit and i couldn't be happier - i like that the kit has its own storage bag and that it comes with a solution you can use to calibrate the unit in order to ensure it is testing correctly - i also like that this kit came with a puncture pen that you use to break the skin - this unit is also so much easier and i am already getting results that i never was able to get before - GREAT PRODUCT

Everything you need- Easy to use
This is my first time using such a thing, and it was really quite easy to set up, calibrate (just using the test fluid), and to use. I found it really simple to poke my finger- nearly painless too, and had no issues whatsoever. Everything needed fits in a nice, small, tidy case (except the extra lancets and strips). Good price too. I recommend it.

Pretty good meter/lancing device
The good: Test strips are cheap (Accucheck are $90/50) Easy to use Lancing device has a good adjustment range Nice case with loops for strips and lancing device The bad: Lancing device required pliers to get it apart the first time. The depth that the device lances is hard to set The case lining bunches up making it difficult to use the storage loops The ugly: Accuracy/consistency TBD. Need to manually insert test strip versus Accucheck auto feed. May not be usable for those with limited dexterity.

Highly recommended! Great value for a good quality kit!
I am a first time user for any type of blood sugar monitoring so it was difficult to narrow down what I needed between all of the selections out there. It is very easy to use and provides a nice large readout with everything needed in one purchase right down to the bag. I am very happy with this kit and feel that I am getting a great value for a great price.

New strips= works great.
Updating review. For some reason the strips this device came with seemed to be faulty, per my previous review. I would get reads all over the board or error messages. Company sent me new box of strips which has alleviated issue. Device seems to work just fine, changing rating. If you enjoy pricking your finger 4-5x in one session just to get a readout, this is the monitor for you! Seriously, you will go through multiple test-strips just to get one reading. And one time, i had one so low after eating- 25, it made no sense. So then I tested again immediately after and got 93. hmmmm ok. I think it is just spitting out a random number. I just did 4 pricks, 4 different test strips and got E-1 or E-7 error messages each time.

Price is great and quality item.
Testing kit is a quality item. Easy to use, excellent thorough instructions. Lancet is painless. Not sure why others had problems piercing skin. I worked construction and had no problem getting a sample on #8. Great item, great price and everything you need is in the kit. I'm a first time user and am completely satisfied!

Doesn’t seem accurate
Honestly I don’t know what to think of this product. I purchased this hoping to get accurate readings with my blood sugar. I do this 3 times a day. Before breakfast, 2 hours after lunch and 2 hours after dinner. Or if I feel off I will check. Readings before breakfast always comes at 108 to 120. This is before consuming anything. This from what I have read is high. Yet blood work from actual doctors office always comes back fine. Anyways I then will check about 2 hrs after eating and I select postmeal (the half eaten apple symbol) and I always get an error message e-7. Every single time. So I have to take out a fresh strip and do it again, poking my finger. I get a high reading of 145ish. One day I started shaking and feeling faint, took my blood sugar and it just said low, no numbers given. Another time I took it feeling fine and it said 172. Thinking there is no way I took it instantly again and it said 82, this was several hours after eating. Just now tonight after eating I took it and get an e-7 message. Took it again and got a reading of 114. Wanted to see how accurate this was I did one more test and it comes up with 132. So I just can’t say this is s reliable product. I feel I have wasted more test strips due to the error messages I get every time. I would not go with this again.

Good product, very intuitive to use.
I wanted to replace my existing One-touch meter, because its display is hard to read, plus those coin batteries run out - why does anyone need back illumination - is that for doing the test in the dark? So I bought this meter and I like it a lot. I am one of those who figures things out first and reads instructions later, if ever. Figuring it out was easier than reading some of the very fine print. The display is easy to read and the batteries are two AAA. If there is something not so good, it is the alternating date and time display. This is a mild nuisance, because flashing things usually want some action to be taken. Fortunately, I don't expect to use this display mode much. Instead, I downloaded the free PC software from the company's website. It installed easily, connected with the meter flawlessly.
