There Dessel's brutality, cunning, and exceptional command of the Force swiftly win him renown as a warrior. But in the eyes of his watchful masters, a far greater destiny awaits him. Star Wars: Darth Bane - Rule of Two: Darth Bane's twisted genius made him a natural leader among the Sith-until his radical embrace of an all-but-forgotten wisdom drove him to destroy his own order . . . and create it anew from the ashes. As the last surviving Sith, Darth Bane promulgated a harsh new directive: the Rule of Two. Two there should be; no more, no less. One to embody the power, the other to crave it. Star Wars: Darth Bane - Dynasty of Evil: Twenty years have passed since the Sith and their endless rivalries were eradicated and replaced with the Rule of Two. Darth Bane now reigns alongside his young acolyte, Zannah, who must study and train in the dark side of the Force until the time comes to strike down her master and claim the mantle for herself. But Bane's brutal new regime has one potential fatal flaw-how will their legacy continue if an apprentice fails. Review: The best and darkest SW books I've ever read!(If there's anything darker PLEASE tell me) - Drew Karpyshyn accomplishes so much as an author in the Darth Bane trilogy! He's written unique and compelling characters(villains and anti-heroes) who all attempt to seize power in their own ways during the final years of the Old Republic. The main characters are so compelling and so committed to their vision that despite the deplorable and savage acts they do(they are Sith Lords after all) you just can't help but root for them the entire time, even as they unleash their devastation on completely innocent lives in the most brutal ways. There is so much to love and so much to gloat about in this series but I want to avoid details because the story really packs a punch if you go in completely blind and hopefully having NOTHING spoiled for you already. I could NOT put these books down and just kept reading because I NEEDED to know the fate of these characters. The story is that good. If you have been craving a darker exploration of the Sith mythology in SW lore or have always wanted to experience a "r-rated/horror" themed Star Wars story this trilogy will deliver that in spades and then some. In a lot of ways it feels like the evolution of a series written by an author who not only understands the essence of what made us all love this universe in the first place, but how to evolve it in ways that actually work! I can't believe that I had put off reading these books for so many years but having been let down by the Disney era SW content(to each their own/I'm personally not a fan of their stories) this satisfied that craving I've had for GOOD SW content. It's out there and for me, its not only this trilogy but most of the awesome stories I've only now been catching up on in the Legends library. If you're a SW fan and have not read this trilogy yet, just do yourself a favor and buy these books already. You'll be mad you haven't done it sooner.
