Thanks** A: I USED TO flush “flushable”, biodegradable cat litter (and only the clumps) down the toilet. Big mistake!! It actually BLOCKED the drain and the outside manhole cover had to be removed and the drain flushed for ages to clear it!! I watched the job being done.....and it was definitely cat litter! The guy who did the work (not cheap, by the way), said that he’d done quite a few “unblock drain jobs” due to cat litter!! He said that some houses have narrower external drain pipes than others. If you empty any soiled clumped litter at least once EVERY DAY, it’s not that much (and significantly better for your cat to ALWAYS have a nice clean litter tray to use) and the clumps or any soiled parts of litter can be placed in a small bag, and put in the household bin. I use the small black plastic bags with handles that you can tie up tightly so the bag is “sealed” with no smell. The small bags are dirt (pardon the pun) cheap. So NO!! Do NOT flush cat litter down your loo!! **Q: I know it’s unscented so no scent has been added, but does it have a natural smell? It seems quite expensive but because it clumps it lasts a long time, I have not used even half of the box in three weeks. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The cats pyjamas… well, litter actually! *by S***H on 21 September 2025* Having an indoor cat, I needed a really good clumping litter for the automatic litter tray (I’m not posh, it was just becoming a real pain trying to stay on top of whenever she’d paid a visit!). Anyway, I have the litter tray set to 10 minutes to tip away her business, which effectively means the litter has that time to absorb what it can and clump up. If it doesn’t, the litter tray would spin around and still be dirty. I have been using it a while now and no other litter has come close to this. The tray spins and comes back clean every.single.time! It is excellent quality and while it is pricey initially, it kind of works itself out and breaks even, as before this litter I was buying 2-3 lots of cheaper litter per month. However, one box of this Ever Clean (odour control) lasts a month or little bit over a month sometimes, with me topping it up here and there. Which I don’t think is bad going for an indoor cat. Also, I’m over the top when it comes to the smell of cat pee, as in I can smell it a mile away. With this there is no cat wee smell at all. In fact, when I pour it out of the box, it smells lovely and fresh. And that’s exactly how it stays. My cat doesn’t seem to be put off with the fresh smell, nor does it seem too hard on her little paw pads either. Unfortunately, I have never known any litter not to track out beyond the tray. And if it didn’t track, wouldn’t that mean a harder litter on the paws? So personally, I’d prefer a litter to track than be uncomfortable or painful on little paws. So a daily hoovering routine is fine by me, which I would be doing anyway, so no skin off my nose.
