Pricey but worth it if you have had an Ambilight tv in the past but not got it anymore. I updated my tv to 4k but didn’t have Ambilight but now I do but you will need Philips bulbs and the bridge which I already had otherwise it’s a costly upgrade.

Decided to make movie nights a whole more immersive so researched what had the best reviews. This was coming up as at the top most of the time. Decided to try something else other than Govee (other option was Fancyleds), boy what a mistake. Was initially disappointed that the the lights were not included & a separate bundle & that also you have to purchase the bridge for this - this pushes the cost up significantly if you are not already in the Hue ecosystem, but based on the reviews thought i'd take the plunge as a one-off purchase for potentially the best solution. Connecting the Hue Bridge via the app was easy enough, but the problem arose when trying to marry the bridge to the sync box. What is not clear is that, unless you are only using a standard router, this will not work. I use the Unifi products for my home internet, i.e. the ISP router only acts as a modem and is wired to my Unifi Gateway. The Unifi gateway, via built in cables travel around the house, where i connected the bridge in one room via a switch. The Sync box was to be in the living room. The fact that i have AP's covering the house, with x2 separate wireless signals of 2.4 GHz (which is what HUE needs - and i use for IoT's) and a separate 5GHz signal (laptops, etc) meant the Synch & Bridge were unable to 'talk' to one another. Phillips Hue support suggested that the only solution was to have the connection via the router - negating my current home internet setup entirely. Hugely disappointed that this system could not cope with current tech and (as support said) the Hue products would been seen as being on different networks. Cancelled the Hue account & returning everything.

It’s a Hue Sync box. The cost was good compared to other places although still very costly for what it actually does. I use it with 2x gradient light strips (4m long) horizontal run at ceiling level and 2x light bars mounted on the vertical. I found setup problematic with Denon AVRs if you want to use Music sync. It can be achieved by using the 2nd zone HDMI; but my solution for music from the tablet and using air play was not good. Therefore needed an AppleTv for the music sync and air playing to the appletv and not the dennon. There’s a lot of experiences online with this issue. Otherwise a good bit of kit. Note if using with home automation the 8K box may not have an API out and the 4K is not compatible .

The box itself, when I finally got it working is great. But, it struggled to work on my WiFi, I have many devices on my 2.4ghz network and after hours of deleting, defaulting bridges, having to repair lights, moving the box to another location to prove local interference, I decided to create a new 2.4ghz network on my spare guest network and enabled intranet so the only device on it is my sync box and it worked straight away. I’m sure most will plug it in and it will work, mine wasn’t straight forward.

Ok c'est super cher, a cela faut ajouter une bande led pour la tv et des ampoules pour un meilleur rendu mais une fois en place et plus de sous dans les poches c'est terrible !!! Ca marche super bien, c'est ultra réactif et l'immersion est plus intense !!! Aucun problème a ce jour avec !

Compré la Philips Hue Sync Box para completar mi instalación Hue alrededor de la televisión y la verdad es que el resultado merece la pena. Si ya tienes varias luces Hue, especialmente barras Play, lámparas Gradient o luces colocadas detrás o a los lados de la TV, la experiencia cambia bastante. La sincronización de color con películas, series y videojuegos crea un efecto muy inmersivo. No es simplemente tener luces de ambiente, sino que la iluminación acompaña lo que aparece en pantalla y hace que la imagen parezca más envolvente. Con una buena configuración de la zona de entretenimiento en la app Hue, el resultado es muy vistoso. La instalación es sencilla, aunque hay que tener claro que funciona con dispositivos HDMI externos, como consola, reproductor, decodificador, Fire TV, Apple TV, etc. No sirve para sincronizar directamente las aplicaciones internas de la televisión, y eso es importante saberlo antes de comprarla. Como punto negativo, el precio es muy alto, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta que necesitas tener ya luces Hue para aprovecharla. También requiere dedicar un rato a colocar bien las luces y ajustar la configuración para que el efecto sea natural. En mi caso estoy muy satisfecho. Si ya estás dentro del ecosistema Philips Hue y quieres mejorar la experiencia con la TV, la Sync Box es un accesorio caro, pero muy recomendable.
