Definitely one of my all time favourite gins! I have tried probably 70% of gins out there and this one just goes down a treat, really smooth and the flavours are not too overpowering. Lovely with slimline Indian tonic water or with a flavoured tonic equally as tasty. If I could drink one gin for the rest of my life it would probably be this!

My wife and I were bought this last year by our friends (well, she was bought it - I don't really drink) and the first thing that struck us was how stylish the bottle looks. It's a striking design that's perfect for gifts to gin lovers - it screams premium product. The flavour has noticeable hints of yuzu which is a lovely addition and offers a nice tang that is slightly different from traditional lemon or lime infusions. I sipped this to try it and even my untrained palette could get those flavours through, but Mrs Pugh, Gin Queen, holds it in even higher esteem. When it was around £21 during Prime Day, I had to snap up a bottle for her - ridiculously good value.

I absolutely love Roku Gin, definitely 5 stars from me. The flavour is just beautiful: delicate, slightly floral, with that subtle citrus taste. It’s so smooth and easy to drink, even if you’re just starting to get into gin. I’ve been enjoying it with a classic tonic and a bunch of fruits; it’s surprisingly versatile and still tastes elegant every time. Compared to other gins I’ve had, Roku feels way smoother and more refined, none of that harsh burn some gins have. Honestly, once you try it, it’s hard to go back. If you like gin, or even if you’re new to it, this one’s a treat.

Il Roku Gin è un gin artigianale giapponese che si distingue per il suo equilibrio nei sapori e la complessità delle sue note botaniche. Il nome "Roku" in giapponese significa "sei", e fa riferimento alle sei botaniche tipicamente giapponesi che vengono utilizzate nella sua preparazione, ognuna delle quali rappresenta una delle quattro stagioni. Composizione e botaniche Le sei botaniche giapponesi principali sono: Fiori di Sakura (fiori di ciliegio) – che conferiscono una delicata nota floreale. Foglie di Sakura – aggiungono dolcezza e morbidezza. Yuzu (un agrume giapponese) – apporta freschezza e acidità. Tè Sencha – un tè verde che dona eleganza e profondità. Tè Gyokuro – altro tipo di tè verde, ma più dolce e delicato. Pepe Sansho – dona una leggera speziatura e un tocco di calore. Oltre a queste botaniche tipicamente giapponesi, Roku Gin incorpora ingredienti più tradizionali usati nei gin come ginepro, coriandolo e agrumi, che lo rendono un vero e proprio gin "multistrato" a livello aromatico. Aspetto e aroma Roku Gin si presenta in una bottiglia elegante da 700 ml con un design esagonale che richiama i sei elementi botanici giapponesi. Al naso, è sorprendentemente bilanciato: le note floreali del fiore di ciliegio si mescolano alla freschezza degli agrumi, in particolare del yuzu. È un profumo molto delicato e piacevole. Gusto Al primo assaggio, si percepisce immediatamente l’equilibrio tra le diverse botaniche. Il sapore iniziale è fresco e agrumato, dominato dal yuzu e accompagnato da una leggera dolcezza floreale. La parte centrale del sorso è più corposa, con le note di tè verde (Sencha e Gyokuro) che aggiungono profondità e una sensazione quasi cremosa. Il finale è piacevolmente speziato, con il pepe Sansho che lascia una leggera piccantezza in bocca, ma senza essere troppo invadente. Abbinamenti Roku Gin è perfetto per essere gustato in cocktail semplici, come un gin tonic, dove può esprimere al meglio la sua complessità senza essere sovrastato da altri ingredienti. Un classico gin tonic con Roku si arricchisce se servito con ghiaccio, una fetta di yuzu o lime e magari una foglia di basilico per esaltare le note erbacee. Conclusione In sintesi, Roku Gin è un gin elegante e raffinato, ideale per chi cerca qualcosa di diverso dai soliti gin occidentali. La combinazione di botaniche giapponesi lo rende unico, mentre il suo equilibrio lo rende adatto sia per essere gustato liscio che come base per cocktail. La sua bottiglia da 700 ml è un'ottima scelta per chi vuole provare un gin artigianale di alta qualità, ricco di sapori e ben bilanciato.

Excelente gin, mais suave que os "conhecidos" mesmo com ABV maior, mas traz umas notas mais interessantes para o meu paladar. É perfeito para drinks sim, mas sinceramente, um gin dessa qualidade merece ser tomado puro, ou em um Martini bem feito. É uma pena que são apenas 700ml...
