Bought this after looking for a standalone mic for recording my voice. Overall, I’m really happy with it! It’s quite literally plug and play. Although be mindful that the box comes with a usb c to usb c connection. I had a spare cable that let me plug into my old USB slot but worth remembering in case you don’t have one. Once plugged in you should download the Shure app in order to have a proper look at the microphone and enable/tweak settings. The little stand it comes with is also great, although I wish it had the ability to adjust height. I will say though that it feels sturdy and is made of metal which in my eyes is a plus. Due to the nature of this kind of microphone (dynamic), you don’t need to worry too much about sound isolation or noises nearby, but you do need to speak closely into the microphone in order to get the best sound from it. After recording few samples, I was really surprised with the quality of it. It’s not perfect, but is completely on par with a lot of the voice recordings you’ll hear on YouTube videos. You get a full sounding voice and sounds far more professional than recording from your laptop or phone. I’ve tried this on Mac and Windows without issue too. I would recommend this for most people, especially if they don’t want to have a massive microphone stand setup or a mixer to deal with.

I use this microphone as part of my home office setup for work calls and the sound quality is excellent. No echo in the room. Very solid construction and works great via USB C. Looks great. I have also had the SM7B in the past too, but that needed a separate cloud lifter to become usable so cost 2-3x more. Highly recommended!

Great mic, I use it for video voice over and it picks up clear crisp sound with great noise cancelling. I gave it 4 stars, because the "touch sensitive mute button" on top, is actually a pain, every time you go to adjust or move this thing you can accidentally mute it without realising. I would have preferred it was on the back or somewhere you are not likely to grip it when moving position.

Great sound quality, good weight, looks very professional and much team really noticed that I was using a different microphone. This device did not work via the USB-C port from a mobile phone, however this doesn't matter as I am moving to stream from a laptop.

Superb sound recording quality and so easy to use.

I spent weeks looking for a great-quality, mid-range microphone to use with my Mac computer—one that worked out of the box and allowed me to use it for video and voice calls while enabling those I speak to to hear me much clearer. The Shure MV6 is amazing—it has a great, well-weighted desk stand, it's a plug-and-play device, and it has an application you can download to boost the EQ. However, as a total novice, I simply wanted a great-sounding microphone, and this is it. The Shure microphone is great quality - it's got a simple mute touch button on the top, and whilst I know it can be used for so many applications including podcasts, I just wanted it for it's most basic use - and I am delighted.

really good for the price

I bought the Shure MV6 for my streaming/game dev chats and you know what? It exceeded expectations. Out of the box, it was plug-and-play via USB-C, and the desktop stand is sturdy (no wobble during heated chats). The voice isolation is impressive: background noise (fans, air-conditioning, workshop tools) is significantly reduced so my voice comes through clean even when I’m multitasking. The Auto-Level mode keeps my volume consistent whether I’m whispering code or shouting for the win. I like the tone slider in the MOTIV Mix app for giving my voice a bit more presence and the tap-to-mute button is ideal when I need a quick pause. The cardioid polar pattern means I don’t pick up as much room echo which helps in less-than-ideal acoustic spaces. If I had one small nitpick: the included USB-C cable is a bit short (1 m), so if your desk is far from the PC it might require a longer cable. But overall, for the price and quality this mic is a winner — highly recommended for content creators who want professional sound without deep setup.
