Excellent!
Delivered VERY quickly by Amazon. Within moments of delivery, this was easily up and running! HDMI lead connected, then the controller and finally the power. Just input your WEP key and there you go, it's a snap. Blu-ray is amazing and the games equally so. Being able to watch the BBC iplayer on the big screen is an added bonus. Previous reviewers say that the fan is noisy, well not so at least not on this one or others I've seen. There are but two little things Sony could have improved on. Firstly, these are the days of full HD display or at least HD ready TV's so they could have included a HDMI cable with the package. C'mon Sony, these aren't expensive anymore. Secondly, this slim version has a matt black finish, not the best idea for something which will attract dust. Far better to have had the smooth 'piano black' casing as with the 'fat' PS3. These are very small niggles and hardly worth a mention. When you would expect to pay almost as much for just a blu-ray/DVD player, this really does so much more and certainly worth the price.

Most satisfactory
Unlike some other reviews, I don't think this is a noisy product. Placed in a unit with the door closed, I can't hear it in operation. I previously had a 60GB PS3, and whilst I think it looked better, it was noisier, and took up a lot more space. The slim PS3 doesn't seem to heat up like my old fat model. Won't play ps2 games, but if that's important you can always keep your ps2 in a cupboard, or if you don't have one already, pick one up for buttons in game / gamestation, etc. With game selling used games quite reasonably in store, it's not difficult to build up a library of games without incurring major expense. All in all this is a top machine. It's not cheap, but with free online connectivity in most games, which really does enliven most titles when you are fed up playing against the computer, built in wireless, built in blu-ray and dvd playback, it's hard to find something not to like.

Great console and great value for the price.
I bought this for me as a birthday treat.. works great, only gripe is it didn't come with an ethernet cable or scart socket to HDMI adapter.. as it said on the box I had to buy the cable but thankfully I didn't need the adapter.

Great offline, online's a different story
I'm a pc player, bought this so that I could meet up online with some friends. The machine itself is reasonably quiet, can hear both the drives when they are being accessed but nothing excessive. I've had this 5 months and only experienced one crash/ freeze so the platform is pretty stable. It does have frequent updates which can be annoying but then windows and ubuntu have their updates too. It is very solid and very easy to set up. The controller connects easily and set up to my wlan was simple. It searched, found my network and all I had to do was fill in the pw. The sound is excellent but then again this will also depend on your speakers etc. Offline this is a treat for playing games, turn on and in about a minute you are playing. Really excellent. However, on line gaming is appalling. From setting up your online ID (confusing, id names not being accepted etc), to Sony Europe's total lack of customer service. They take a minimum of 3 weeks to respond to an email. Game matching is slow, players frequently drop out, if it's the host then there goes the game. Why Sony couldn't have followed the tried and tested route of dedicated servers for games I don't know. The current model is atrocious. My friends who've never played online on a pc just accept this but it really isn't good enough. I am unsure whether all online gaming is the same but for the games I've tried they all use one player as host. Another gripe is the in game chat. Why can't you just select friends and enter a virtual room like with TeamSpeak? Everyone can hear you, muting only stops you listening to that teenager who thinks it's funny to sing in a high pitched warble, or the guy who wants us all to listen to his choice of music. Having said all that, the music videos that download is a nice touch, just shame youtube HQ is now better quality. Gfx are now beginning to show their age, but a ps3 can't compete against a mid range gaming pc in this respect. The pc will cost at least 3 times the ps3, but it does offer the ability to be upgrade. So would I recommend the PS3? For solo play, definitely. Cheap and very, very good at what it does. For online gaming, well it depends. If you've never played pc online then you won't know any different so go on, try it. If you've gamed with a pc online then not really, at least not till they've got a different gaming model.

PS3
Bought this a few years ago, it came very well packaged. Console was in very good condition and with original controller and charging cable, the controller had very little wear.

Disk Error
Recently just purchased a PS3, When arrived I set it up and everything looked fine and working, until I inserted a game and would not run & wouldn't come out, previously had a playstation 3 and know when these consoles do not work, for me not acceptable for the price paid. Hopefully be rewared with my money back.

Contento en general
La consola funciona bien pero está un poco mal físicamente. Por lo demás todo bien y además incluyen una revista con sus productos.
