Known design flaws
Middle pivot point doesnt stay locked into place. It arrived in damaged busted up box, implying it was a return item. What doesnt need to be inferred is the fact that the packaging design team knew to package it in a large unextended box, knowing the spring loaded mechanism was bound to bounce open, because what im going to assert is a known defect. Another known design defect[s] is/are the threading adapters. The smaller inner thread is signifiantly longer than the wider 5/87th adapter, allowing the inner 1/4th thread to poke through, meaning your microphone stand is never going to sit flush with the head of the arm. This level of incompetency had to be known throughout the design phase, documented and pasted back to the package design team that made an utterly stupidly long box known it cannot remain compressed, and then in the final leg, known by the QA team that saw no issue with the stupid looking thread adapter setup.

Annoying
i tighten the spring areas and the microphone continues to rise on its own. Very annoying. Will be getting another product.

Tension is to strong.
Tension in the arm is to strong ended up sending it back. Even with the tension screw turned to its lowest it didn’t feel like anything had changed. The arm would just spring back to where it wanted to go which was completely straight up. Exchanged it for the elgato arm instead and that’s much better.

Sturdy and worth the extra money
I decided to take a step up from the many cheaper mic arms because of the excellent reviews. I'm glad I did. This thing is solid. It is heavy and feels a better quality than what I imagine the cheaper ones are. The single arm (rather than the several pivoting struts in each section of the cheaper models) looks much more professional. I used this with a Blue Yeti Mic (the regular size, not the nano) and it fits well with no movement on the arm even when fully extended. As said in other reviews, the spring is pretty strong so be sure to put on your microphone before worrying about it being too strong. I'd recommend spending the extra money for this one.

It takes a little while to "break-in"
I bought this for a smaller condenser (Lewitt 440 Pure) which is lighter weight than many mics. It really has taken about 7-9 weeks for that mic arm to "break-in". What I mean is the arm(s) would float downward due to the weight of the mic. I cranked on those tension wheels pretty tightly and it still would slowly float down. Sometimes the base arm would float down and other times it was the extension arm. It took some manuevering to get it to stay in one place. It seems built really well but if they could make this product work great out of the box, I would have for sure given 5 stars. But even now, 7 weeks later, I still have to crank on those tension wheels very hard. Which is fine but when you need to adjust it up or down, those joints are tight. Which makes manuevering the arm(s) cumbersome because you actually have to use both hands and "force" it where you want it. If you need to make adjustments often (podcasters, DJ's), it will frustrate you. If you are like me, using it in a music studio booth, there are only a few times throughout the day I need to adjust it for vocals or instruments dpending on if one is standing or sitting. Update: this arm just took some time to break in. It actually works very, very well. Stays in position and the tension does not need to be cranked so hard now. Just note that it'll take time but I made a great choice with this one. 👌
