King Kooker 00501 Brass Needle Valve

Works just as I expected and so much better than what I had before. This turned the mediocre adjustment ability of my smoker into a fine tuned machine.

Works a lot better than the one that comes with the Bayou cooker. It is more precise.

I recently purchased this needle valve not for a BBQ, or a turkey cooker, But actually for a propane forge. I do alot of Bladesmithing, and I wanted to upgrade to a bigger forge. most of the parts I could source locally, but a needle valve eluded me, until I checked here. this valve does the trick for me, as I can easily control the flow of propane into my forges burner.

Was what I wanted and needed but upon further exam of product the rubber seal was cut and made useless to even hook up. There was no apparent quality control or I received a lemon, to late to return. I replaced the rubber seal and will use it during summer on my cooker.

I bought a Nexgrill so I could have a small and lightweight tailgate grill. But the thing would catch fire even on lowest setting. I couldn't slow cook anything. I installed this and now I can getthe temp below 200 so I could even smoke meat on this thing if I wanted. I just have to get use to adjusting it. I have put the flame out a few times going too low. I installed it into the tubing between the regulator and the grill. The tubing is rubber with 5/16 inside diameter. To install it I bought 2 fittings. One 5/16" barbed X 1/4" NPT male threaded side. And one 5/16" barbed X 1/4" NPT female threaded fitting. And two small hose clamps. My grill temp is fully adjustable now.

valve worked great but was about 2x the price i later found on line. the valve is 1/4" NPT and my regulators are 3/8" so it took a few more fittings to make it work but it worked very well once everything was ironed out.

This is a great valve for helping control the temperature on my propane smoker. I was unable to get my smoker under 300° before this addition. Now, I can consistently run right at 225° with no problem. I went to my local big box hardware store and bought the adapters I needed to splice this inline between the burner and the regulator. Make sure you follow the arrow on the body of the valve so propane flows properly. My only complaint with this valve is when it is closed enough for me to run my smoker at 225° it has a high pitched whistle. I'm surprised it doesn't make all of the dogs in my neighborhood bark! Otherwise, it is a great valve. I would purchase it again if I had a need.

Good needle valve, I had bought another brand valve and had issues with it leaking around the valve stem. This valve hasn't had any issues with that yet. Feels to be well made.

Installed on my propane line to my smoker with a couple of fittings. Works great and allows fine control of the propane.
