New and unprogram. Review: The keyfobs I purchased appear virtually identical to the OEM key (w/o the logo sticker). Google searches were encouraging that the keyfob could be programmed using the original key and a virtual "rain dance" of pushing keyfob buttons while in the car . I tried a variety of online documented procedures for programming a BMW keyfob using your current key. Nothing successful came of this. ALthough I am sure it was entertaining for my neighbors to watch me fiddling for hours in my driver's seat. The only locksmith I've found locally that advertises that they program keyfobs said that mine (BMW X1) was not among those that his equipment could handle. He suggested I take the blank keyfobs to the BMW Dealership. I did so - and they flatly refused to even attempt the programming. BUT they WOULD sell me a new programmed key for $750. OUCH!!! THat is high enough to make me re-think whether I really need an additional key. Besides - who knows? Maybe my 2nd key will suddenly re-appear. I am still searching the Myrtle Beach, SC area for a locksmith who will help.
