It re-arranges the game narrative and spends a lot of time on character development, for example, we get to see 2B, Adam & Eve, A2 and 9's perspective of things. In the game, the feelings of characters are often left vague, or perhaps, open to interpretation, but this book goes deep into their thoughts processes and feelings which made the experience even more impactful to me. I was glued to it from start to finish. Nier's story can be confusing as we all know, but with the book, I found it easy to solidify the when and where of events in my mind. My only criticism, there are spelling mistakes in the book, for example, mistaking '9S' for '9B'. The book itself, it started to curl when it was a particularly humid day. I've moved it to a drier room in the house and it's been fine since. However I noticed that one of the glossy illustrated pages at the start has...rubbed off? No idea how or why. However I wouldn't recommend buying from Amazon. I recieved mine with damaged, cut and folded pages from where it hadn't been handled with care.
