Half decent single player, fun multiplayer
This was my first Mario Tennis game, and I was really wanting a different game than MK8 (which I have on WiiU) to enjoy. Whilst it's not as much fun as my beloved Virtua Tennis on the Dreamcast, this still does have some mini games to enjoy during the single player campaign. Plus some tough challenges besides (I'm only so far through). Multiplayer wise its good and offers local & online modes. What I will say though, is that it probably won't provide as good of variety for non tennis fans as say Mario Party, Mario Kart or other such games. Plenty of characters in this though, sadly doesn't seem as though there's many courses but the 3-4 different surfaces are covered. Besides, like on football games, once the game gets underway your not really fussed where you are playing, are you? Overall, this delivers what I was wanting. There's stuff to unlock through single player game (unlike MK8 Deluxe), it provides a change of pace and due it selling well hopefully we'll now see Mario Golf and other big sport games coming to Switch (PES and Madden ??) Not tested the 'Swing Mode' yet, didn't like the Wii's poor motion controls and prefer a proper controller. I'm sure it'll be better than those 10 year old controls and maybe some day I'll give it a go, but not at this moment in time.

AN AMAZING GAME ( my fingers hurts )
This game it’s so great and addictive that my thumb hurts of so much playing it. The adventure mode it’s fantastic and I’m happy to say that this isn’t and easy game, you really have to work hard to go further in this game. And then you have the online mode witch you can play tennis with people around the world. After playing Zelda , Mario kart and oddisey., this was a great choice for my collection . Now just can’t wait for Mario party and Pokemon to be relised.

Great game, even for non tennis fans
This game does what Nintendo do really well, that is to take a genre of game and turn it in to something uniquely Nintendo. All their top characters are there, all the things that make you smile and laugh, but at its heart it is still a game of skill and tactics. A really entertaining game that everyone can play.

Aces shines best in its gameplay
What Ultra Smash on Wii U lacked in terms of features, Tennis Aces does a superb job of correcting those mistakes. The truth is, this was a release sorely needed to keep the Mario tennis franchise relevant. Aces shines best in its gameplay, which is precise, slick and chock full of controls. Some might even say that the sheer number of controls is overwhelming (particularly if you are new to tennis games), but the good news is that you can play in a Simple Mode that limits the gameplay to only the essential inputs. Zone Shots, Special Moves, slowing down time and more are all incredible additions that can drastically alter your strategy, provided that you master them. And this is where patience is due, as you'll be rewarded for learning how to pull-off these tricks at the right moments. Despite the greatness of these moves, I've actually found the Simple Mode more enjoyable because there is less pressure, though this is subjective. Swing Mode allows you to play the game using the motion controls of one Joy-Con, which is your racquet. Being a veteran of Wii Sports, I half expected to be swinging the controller whilst the CPU did all the graft, but as it turns out there is still a lot of manual control involved. Not only can you move the player and control the type of contact using the buttons, but synergy between the position of the Joy-Con and the impact on the swing is amazingly lifelike. This may well be the biggest test within the game... If the game falters however, it's unusually due to a lack of Nintendo polish. Animations and many of the graphics have simply been carried over from Ultra Smash, with the former sometimes looking a little lacklustre and robotic. There are no easy options to select a stadium in free play (Rather, you have to 'deselect' the stadiums you don't want to play on!), few customisation options with regards to equipment and attire, an inability to select the match length, a forced split-screen and no option to change the difficulty level of the CPU. 4/5 seems fair as I've no doubt that many of the missing features could easily be corrected in future updates. What's most important is that gameplay is on the ball, and I can see myself having hours of fun with friends and family.

It’s Mario tennis. What do you want?
Great fun game. I tend to play with others more than single player but it’s challenging enough to be testing if you want it to be, but accessible enough to just have a fun game hitting the ball back and forth. Great for all ages. Not much more to say. It’s a well made Mario character tennis game. If this sounds exiting to you then you’ll love it. If it doesn’t, you won’t.

Really cool and fun game for all the family
Arrived today in the mail it’s a really amazing I like the fact the you can use the motion part but unfortunately you can’t use it on all the game e.g the tournaments or adventure maybe that will unlock in a update soon All in all this game is a great game would say it’s like the wii sports Would also recommend this to all switch game players well worth the money

Great tennis game
Great nintendo game, lots of fun to be had by all the family, defensive shots take a bit of getting used to, but other than that pretty easy to pick up and play
