Teva Women's W Hurricane 4 Sport Sandal

I LOVE these shoes! I bought them for a vacation to Hawaii, where we planned to do some hiking. I knew that hiking boots were not what I wanted in the warm humid climate of Kauai, so I purchased these shoes. I could not have been happier. I wore them nearly everyday! They were comfortable, and allowed me to be active when were were out and about exploring the island. They hugged the rocks, were great on trails, and I could easily trop through puddles. I usually get blisters when I hike with any other shoes, but not with my Tevas...they give my toes and feet plenty of room and air, which makes them oh so happy. Now I wear them whenever I hike near my sunny Southern California home. I am a true Teva convert. I am a true 7 in shoes, and these fit perfectly. I also loved that I could adjust all the straps to get the perfect fit.

I’ve been looking for a water/beach sandal for a while. Although I know of the Teva brand I do not own any until now. This is a great sandal! I am sooooooo happy with this purchase. I read all the reviews before I made a decision on the size. I am a 7.5 - 8 depending on the brand. I decided to go with the 7M (it was kind of a crap shoot) even though Teva recommends if you are a half size to go up. The 7 is perfect!!! I love all the adjustable Velcro straps and the arch support is right where it should be. I know the 8 would have been too long at the toes. Not only are these going to be functional for what I need but they are so darn cute!!! Love, love, love them! I’m so glad I don’t have to return!

ORIGINAL 3/5This product is pretty great, it fits well and does the job of providing my soles protection beyond just a pair of flipflops. However a lot of days my feet will leave these sandals really sweaty, stinky, and sticky. (The terrible three). Also, the velcro at times tends to catch onto the other fabric on this sandal and I can already see scruffiness and many threads are loose. I was also surprised to see that the sole was a hard single piece of rubber, nothing fancy that i expected based on the price, but hey, the shoes still haven't worn through since Aug/Sept of 2018. But in terms of happiness, I am satisfied I have shoes easy to slip on and off when I am making a quick exit. I think I would be more unhappy if I had to pay the full price, a family friend gave me a giftcard so I could pay less. Teva seems to be a very high-end sandals company and many people rated this high, so I'm here to offer a countering opinion to balance the scales. I don't think this product is bad, but it doesn't fit under the category outstanding.UPDATE: 4/5These sandals have lasted me a full year from going to Israel to walking all over my college campus without significant wear to the soles. The sandal straps do get a little nasty catching on to hair and other fabrics, but you can pick these out. These are durable and will last a while. I got a lot of compliments when I first bought them and they still work well. A solid investment.

I really, really, really wanted to love these Teva sandals but, unfortunately, they just didn't quite meet my expectations. I've had Teva's in the past and have worn them out, so I was hoping that the Hurricane 4's would be a good replacement. Unfortunately, it seems that Teva has changed over the years...the Hurricane 4's are not quite as comfy as my old Teva Terra Fi's...the footbed is soft while sturdy but they seem to have widened out the toe box area, making them look horribly clunky. They've also added a little more "arch" support, which makes them slightly less comfortable. I've tried several different styles of Teva's in recent weeks and none of them quite worked for me. A real shame, as I loved my older Tevas.

I purchased these for use in Guatemala as I new I would be doing some slight hiking in wet areas. These are pretty comfy but they became extremely slippery on wet rocks or damp mossy areas. They also took quite a while to dry. The sole material seemed to absorb quite a bit of moisture which also made them heavy once they were wet. Maybe after I break them in they may feel different? I don't know but I'm hesitant to wear them in damp areas again.

I love everything about these shoes. They are so comfortable and lightweight. The fit is perfect with good arch and heel support. I have only done light hiking while wearing them but they are great and clean up nice. I'm usually an 8-8.5 and ordered the size 8.

Cushy, with excellent arch support and tread!! These are a huge improvement over my original Teva sandals, used primarily as water shoes for rafting and tubing. This new model is so comfortable and versatile that I can wear them all the time. After a double knee replacement that didn’t go as planned, I struggle to find summer shoes that are stable and supportive. These perform every bit as well as the $185 orthopedic shoes I wear in the winter.

I wore these to hike through streams with actual currents to swim in a waterfall while onvacation. They worked great walking Over slippery rocks and were fine to swim in while at the waterfall as well. I highly recommend them.

Breaking them in by wearing them indoors as my trek is in 2 weeks time. Comfortable so hopefully will remain during my trip. Sole is cushioned and feels nice. Very pleased.

I had a pair of these Tevas that I wore every summer for 15 years. I'm so pleased to have another pair again. Happy feet!

I have an old pair of Teva sandals of what I thought was an identical design, but looking a little ratty now. When I got these new ones I was thrilled at how nice they looked and the perfect fit! Until I went for a walk. On my old ones, the strap across the top had padding on the inside (in photo on left), like the padding on the strap around the heel. These new ones don’t have that padding (in photo on right), and after a 30 minute walk the somewhat sharp edge of the strap had really irritated the front of my ankle. I’m hoping a shoe repair person will be able to add some padding.

Teva still fits this sandal as large as it did 15 years ago, for my size. I am a very reliable W7 in all footwear but have exchanged these for a size 6. The straps are the same comfortable design, but they could have given us another inch of ankle strap - only a few cents expense, and a stronger wrap where there is the most stress on the sandal, would be good! But the arch of the sole is as good as ever - nice athletic semi-rigid support, with tire traction!. I bought this because I just wanted a new colour.
