JC IR Illuminator 4-Led Infrared Light for IR Camera, Quest Series and PSVR2 with Power Adapter

I mounted this above my camera in a carport, and found it provided good light. Then I decided to angle the light towards the ceiling and see how well it diffused. It was amazing!!!! By diffusing it I eliminated every shadow within 50 feet. Either way it provides good light.

I installed this next to the Swann security camera I have installed in my garage. The Swann IR light wasn't bright/wide enough to illuminate all of the garage I want to see. This spot did the trick and was super easy to set up. Also, just FYI, it is worth the money to get a power splitter cable set for these so you can slave the power off the cable running to the camera. I have four IR spots around the house, all powered by the same cable that powers the cameras.

The good: I have a camera set up looking at my house from 30-40 feet away. The IR illuminator is a few feet ahead and to one side so that the camera doesn't pick up every bug that flies by (which happens when I use the camera's built-in IR LEDs). The IR illuminator lights up front of the house perfectly, looks like daylight. If you have this illuminator and you are not seeing similar results, first check that the illuminator is working at all. At night the 4 LEDs should be glowing red, bright enough to see at night. If you don't see the red LEDs either your unit is broken, your power supply is no good, or the daylight sensor is seeing too much light. Second, maybe your camera is not sensitive to this wavelength of IR. Mine's an "Amcrest UltraHD 4K (8MP) Outdoor Security IP Turret PoE Camera". The sort-of-bad: The IR LEDs glow red. This thing is not "stealth" at all, four glowing red dots in the bushes at night are pretty obvious. But this is true of most IR illuminators. The bad: It worked fine until it started raining. About a month after the first rain it died. When I disassembled it I found it was half-full of water. Further inspection showed that the connector for the wires from the power supply board to the LEDs had rotted due to being submerged in water. I cleaned everything and dried it out, then I removed the bad connector and soldered the wires directly and now its working again. I will reassemble using generous amounts of sealant in the hopes that I can make it more waterproof than it was from the factory. The front "lens ring" and the rear cable entry are the only places I see that it could have leaked. The side bracket mount holes don't seem to penetrate into the interior. Both the lens ring and the rear cable entry have rubber seals, but at least one of them (and maybe both) didn't do its job properly. I removed one star for the poor waterproofing. If you buy this I suggest you re-waterproof it before putting it out where it will get rained on.

Solid little unit, LEDs are seen as redish purple, I mounted the unit in the top corner of the garage door frame nearist the camera.. Reason for use, to lighten dark area near keypad due to roof overhang blocking that area and to help see near the bushes and for anything parked on driveway. For scale, road is about 40 feet away from main 180 camera. I like that the LEDs are seen to help deture a would be....... Pictures taken in total darkness, no white lights on at my house, at around 11:30pm. Nor do I use camera's IR lights, this helps keep bugs away and others from seeing the camera location at night. I hope this helps anyone reading.

1) I was sold a used product as new. This is a returned item, that has been repaired. I can see hot glue (hot glue?)seeping out the seem. This is used product, repaired and sold as new. Very uncool. Also does nothing to help night vision. 2) This thing does absolutely nothing to a night vision camera and the light is visible, a deep red, VERY noticeable! You wont be hiding this. IR light should not be visible. That is a sign of something on the wrong wave length, cheap leds, ETC. 3) I am definitely returning this ASAP. Dont waste your money

I purchased 2 of these. One for my back porch and another one for my front porch. Both porches are covered. These are working so well with my Wyze cams to improve night vision. It turned night into day! They have held up well and had no issues with moisture inside of them but they are in areas where they are protected so that is helping I am sure. These are made to cover a smaller area. If you have a larger area that needs coverage I would recommend getting the larger IR Lights. Very pleased with these for my purpose!

Power supply lasted 2 weeks . IR illuminator works fine. I had an extra power supply I am using.

this is sturdy, has the right features and is very bright. everything needed to use this product is included.

Erhellt sehr schön, wo das Infrarot meiner Dahua Cam etwas schwächelt. Abstrahlwinkel geschätzt ca. 90°. Ich habe zwei davon gegenläufig (einer nach links, einer nach rechts strahlend) montiert, um den Video-Bereich in der Distanz von 5m von oben optimal auszuleuchten. Die Stromversorgung habe ich übrigens über PoE Splitter am PoE Switch mit Y-Adapter am 12V Kabel gemacht. Alles kein Rocket Science, nur zusammen stecken. Perfekt und würde ich so wieder machen!

Acquistato per illuminare una zona periferica del' inquadratura di una videocamera di sicurezza esterna fa egregiamente il suo lavoro, molto potente illumina a giorno il suo settore,era proprio quello ché mi serviva ,ottimo articolo. Aggiornamento: Marzo 2019 ho acquistato il secondo illuminatore identico al precedente con piena soddisfazione di entrambi, illuminano aree periferiche ma importanti poco illuminate dai led delle videocamere con un fascio di infrarossi molto potente e che arriva alla giusta distanza per le videocamere. Quindi a mio parere sono perfetti per il loro utilizzo. È vero che guardando il faretto al buio si vedono distintamente i 4 grandi led rossi, ma questo mi pare normale.

Me permet de jouer ou de regarder des films sur mon Oculus Quest, la nuit dans le noir total. L'illuminateur IR, produit à la fois une lumière quasi invisible à l'oeil nu, et extrêmement puissante pour les caméras de l'Oculus, lui permettant de fonctionner comme si on était de jour. La pièce est bien sombre vu de l'extérieur du casque, mais clair vu de l'intérieur du casque. Fonctionne comme attendu, même si ça n'était pas spécifié pour cet usage dans sa description. Je le pose au sol, pas besoin d'être face caméra, IR compatible et très puissant, juste ce qu'il me fallait ! Je recommande vivement ce produit.

I use two to illuminate the front yard & a 3rd for the deck, works really well with my Axis camera systems, dawn dusk sensor is perfectly calibrated. The front ones are exposed to all weathers & have held up really well with no issues, although I did used adhesive lined heatshrink to seal the power cable joints just to ensure they remain watertight. All in all excellent value, the beam could be considered a little narrow but with only 4 emitters this is to be expected. If you need to cover a larger area consider a bigger unit, or multiples covering specific areas.

Los acabados son los esperados por este precio, pero funciona perfectamente. Lo compré para usar las gafas de realidad virtual Meta Quest 3 en la oscuridad para mayor inmersión y funcionan perfectamente, lo tengo en una esquina de la habitación apuntando al techo. Hice algunas pruebas con una cámara de video antigua con visión nocturna e ilumina bastante, pero si le quito el cristal tintado con el que viene la diferencia es abismal, ilumina como 10 veces más. Se lo he cambiado por un cristal de metacrilato satinado que he cortado a medida. No se si para las gafas RV es necesario, porque cuando hice las primeras pruebas no parecía que tuviera problemas de rastreo aun con el cristal. Es muy fácil de quitar, va enroscado. De paso aproveché para desenchufar el sensor de luz de la placa de circuitos para que esté siempre encendido, lo enciendo y apago con un interruptor Tapo desde el móvil. De serie viene con un sensor de luz y solo se enciende si la luz está apagada, lo cual no está mal, pero me parece que también regula la intensidad, además igualmente para este uso no me interesa que esté encendido toda la noche, por lo cual el sensor no me sirve.
