Real USB 3.0 HUB!!
Previously I bought a Transcend Express card for my old laptop. It failed to perform well!. But, I trust the brand because of their product quality. This particular hub made me happy. It is powerful enough to handle all 4 Ports at good(if not better) speeds when connected to external power. I did try using two USB 3.0 external HD's and they performed well. And with just one, it really shines!. You can use all four ports at a time. No problem at all. No disconnections, no slow downs, nothing. And the usb cable that comes is a bit thicker. It is different from the one's that comes with most HD's making it sturdier. One more considerable feature is that it has a dedicated charging port to charge your devices. It can charge your devices full speed just by plugging the power adapter. Pros: - Good build quality/Slim - Long power cord - Can run USB 3.0 ex-HD's or devices at full speed. - Dedicated charging port - Good port-to-port distance - Can be used without external power - All 4-Ports are usable at the same time Cons: - No rubber feet - Slides on desk. - No external power indicator On the whole, i recommend this product to anyone looking for a powered USB 3.0 Hub. Just buy it.

Quality Powered USB Hub
This powered USB hub connects the upstream USB host (which has to be necessarily a laptop or a PC) to multiple downstream USB devices such as mouse, wifi / bluetooth dongles, portable hard-disc drives etc., while providing the requisite power exactly at 5V to the downstream devices in case they require power beyond what the host laptop's / PC can provide. The USB 2.0-Bus of the host laptop / PC usually provides only upto 500 mA of power @ 5V. On the other hand, in case of devices such as portable external HDDs, a minimum of 900 mA power is required for them to run smoothly (otherwise, lot of clicking noise will be heard from the HDD, and the life of the HDD gets reduced). This powered USB hub can provide that extra power besides facilitating data-transfer between the host laptop / PC and the devices. The Transcend powered USB hub is also great at strictly regulating the voltage at 5V, unlike certain Chinese powered USB hubs which do not do a good job at it and cause back-current. Back-current due to excess voltage can eventually damage the equipment to which such a powered hub is connected. ONE WORD OF CAUTION! This is not an OTG hub. In other words, the host / upstream device has to be a PC or a laptop. It cannot connect a smart device such as an Android tablet at the upstream, with a keyboard at the downstream.

value for money, great functionality.
Excellent product. The external power adapter ensures that even high current drawing devices are working smoothly with your system. I am able to power my USB 3.0 external HDDs (WD Elements 2TB HDD mini) perfectly! However, one minus point seems to be that unless the external power adapter is on, the hub does not seem to function at all. That is, that your hub will only work when it IS POWERED ON. It'd have been a good thing to support low drain devices without external power. But in my particular case, I am ok with this small issue, as I power my hub through my UPS.

VFM, great function.
Content in box: the hub (half the size of my average-sized-palm), a travel adapter (~1.5 foot cable length), a 15cm USB male to USB 3.0 connector. the hub has one fast charging port. other 3 ports are regular. charging on the fast charging port when connected via adapter is fast, like it is meant to be. with just the adapter, it can used as charging station. test: so i connected the hub to adapter & then to pc via usb cable. then connected one USB 3.0 portable drive (1 TB) & one USB 3.0 desk drive (2 TB) (with its own adapter separately. on my Surface Pro 3 with Windows 10, i could get consistent speeds of 100 MB/s. tried with multiple transfers & total data exchanged between the two external drives was of 250GB. crazy fast. from Surface SSD to external portable HDD, write speeds were modest at consistant 30-35 MB/s. i'd say, a nice but all in all. does what it says & does it very well. Recommended

100% Compatible with Raspberry PI 2. Will power the Pi and anything attached to it. I like the fact that it is usb 3... if I need it for something other than Pi or if Pi gets an upgrade...its ready! NOTE: If you try to power the pi and the hub separately: If you power on the hub 1st the Pi will not boot. If you boot the Pi 1st or power the Pi off the hub everything works as you would expect. If you do not have a USB to Micro Usb cable it would be a good idea to get one. Also the hub is slightly smaller than the Pi the 2 fit nicely together.

I bought this hub to use with my tablet, mobile phone, battery tank, etc.., to avoid carrying out all the chargers for each device when I am travelling, but also to use it as a dock station for my tablet when I am at home. The quick charge port charge my thinkpad 8 in reasonable time, and also work as hub with the Y cable (a cable for this specific tablet to use the usb port to charge and to connect a device at the same time). No problem if I use all the ports with all kind of gadgets (keyboard, mouse, usb 3.0 memory, usb 3.0 ethernet adapter, hard disk 3.0, an extra usb 2.0 passive hub, etc.). The device is able to work without the external power supply too, of course we have to be aware that some devices requires more power like hard disks, but I haven't had problems. I tried also to connect the Y cable to power the tablet and at the same time to use the hub, and although it works for a few seconds, it is very unstable and keeps loosing connection to the devices (probably due to lack of power), just for curiosity, actually I prefer to connect the Y cable to the tablet charger and leave a port free to use with other devices. I have used it for two months, if somebody ask me I would recommend this product.
