Hi All,You are ideally not supposed to use a marble cutter for wood-working. Mostly because of 2-3 things, the backlash, the size of the blade, you have to specifically buy 5inch blades for this, your depth of cut would be better if you take a wood circular saw, finally - the speed of the saw (this runs at 12K RPM - so look for blades rated for 12K). You can do something that you are not supposed to, as long as you know what you are not supposed to do.So I saved myself about 3K by buying a marble cutter.I am happy with what it does. I am doubly happy with the delivery, I got it delivered in 5 hours flat.

UPDATE 21 March 2019 it has been over a year and more of regular use. The cutter still works like a charm. Just go for it. The Allen key, and wrench have gotten a bit rusty but the cutter still looks and works amazing. You pay higher for a brand name and it lives upto the expectations.UPDATE 12/02/2018 Cutter works good. Used a 4 inch TCT wood saw blade and cut 6 feet long planks, 1.5 inch thick.. Cut them length wise and it cut through great. The machine does heat up a little but you aren't going to use it as a table saw for extended periods, so it should stay good.28/01/2018 Few things one needs to consider when buying this. One is paying a higher price than other similar cutters available in the market, just for the Bosch brand name. The performance is same as any other local marble /wood cutters. I'm just assuming the armature will last longer than the other local brands. Box came with seal intact and shrink wrap. I tested it out with an old wood cutting tct blade and it worked great. Will update more once I use it more. Got it at Rs 3239

Machine is sturdy, handy. Base plate is not perfectly flat. That will be a big quality issue as it will affect cut edge profile. Let me use it for sometime and I will post full review.
