10/10 product. I was able to replace my broken right hinge using this with no issues. I've since added the screwdriver and prier to my tools!

I just needed the left side to repair I saw buying one swivel hinge wasn't much less money than buying both left and right hinges.. so I grabbed the left right package deal. Noting is my research that it was the right side most ppl had trouble with breaking. Now I am ready if in the future that right hinge goes and breaks on me, I got the part and know the moves. lol Well they seem OEM, I am glad the screw drivers were included in the purchase, the parts are so small, 2 small half washer size metal locks and two plastic hinges, that really look and seem inexpensive to make, but good enough(?) for their jobs lol The cheap yet very handy dandy useful screwdrivers I got with this deal, I now have to add to my small repair tool chest. The screwdrivers I think cost more than the parts lol installation was smooth as could be. It took about 35-40min, (youtube instruction really helped to take away any stress in this small job, XM4s are expensive headphones.. so ya), though taking my time still, so not to break or loosen any wire connections. Its altogether now.., looks and feels like new !

I've had 3 pairs of Sony XM4s break. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the other ones could be repaired so easily, and they were thrown away. My current pair broke a few days ago, which is when I stumbled across a Reddit post talking about replacing the hinge swivel. Most other sites that sold the part were only selling 1 side for about the same price that I paid for both sides on Amazon. I used 2 videos from Central Sound on YouTube to follow along for the replacement; they have one for each side since they are different. The left side was easier and took about 10-15 minutes. The right side had more delicate parts to disconnect and move, so it took me about 20-25 minutes. Only the left side was broken, but I decided to replace both. Both replacements were successful, and the headphones are now good as new!

No problem to assemble. Everything looks good except the two things: 1) The locking metal piece is little loose (Plastic slot tolerance) 2) Axial opening diameter is slightly larger which causes speaker unit wiggling (See the video). This might be a good design change ( changes from rigid coupling to flexible coupling) which will lead to less breakage in the future. Or, the OEM factory doesn't have knowledge of negative thermal expansion during plastic cooling down phase. Thinking about 1), it might not be an intentional design change. Conclusion: If you cannot get original A5018265B part, this is your last choice to salvage your legendary headphone. $20 won't break your bank.

First thing I want to say watch the YouTube video before you make the attempt and decide if you want to dot it or have someone do it for you. They do not come with instrucrions, just a card that prompts you to look up the YouTube video. If you decide to try it, follow every step in the YouTube video VERY closely, if you're doing it correctly there will be no struggle to remove the pieces as you go. It was definitely more entailed than I thought it would be. I did it and my headphones are fixed but I consider myself mechanically inclined. Took about 45 minutes. Second thing is for the money, these parts are fine, but not OEM at all. I only needed to fix the left. I can see a difference between the two now. A bit of a space is obvious in comparison. As I said its still definitely worth it. For the price and the fact I got it done I give 5 stars. Only time will tell how quality of a product it is.
