AKG P120 High-Performance General Purpose Recording Wired Microphone

“I am using the AKG P120 condenser microphone and I really love it. The sound quality is very clear, crisp, and detailed, especially for vocals and instrument recording. It captures natural tone without harshness, which makes recordings sound professional. The build quality is solid, and features like the 20 dB pad and low-cut filter are very useful for controlling loud sources and unwanted low-frequency noise. It works perfectly for home studio recording, singing, flute/instrument recording, and content creation.

Review after using for 5 months Pros 1. Very good mic with decent build quality and sound quality. You have to use with a good quality mixer. I have a low budget mixer and Yamaha ag03mk2 mixer , with Yamaha ag03mk2 it is very good. 2. I am getting a full confidence while singing infront of this mic Things to consider before buying 1. If you are taking this for professional purpose , make sure you have a well closed room like studio , else it will pick up lot of background noise as it is a condenser mic. It will pick birds cyring sound, rain sound, vehicles sound etx..

Great but you need a proper room treatment to get a full potential of this mic.

AKG P120 is the mic that records beautifully and one can't tell while listening to the output that the mic is so budget friendly. It performs far better than some overpriced products in the market. The build is solid and looks gorgeous in black. I highly recommend it for anyone into vocal recording or even acoustic instruments! Just go for it.

This is the kind of mic which has the potential to sound amazing with a little bit of EQ and proper room acoustics. I've had it for a while now and I can say the first time I recorded my vocals on it I was overjoyed at the fact that what I wanted was what I got. Although there are other mics out there with larger 1" diaphragms, this 2/3" diaphragm will also do the trick provided the environment it's placed in and the vocal technique of the performer are proper. The self noise floor could've been reduced but considering the quality you're getting out of this package I'd say it's not much of an issue as the noise gets covered up by music pretty well. I think the boost around 6k could've been reduced a bit in the manufacturing or designing stage but controlling it with an EQ or dynamic compresser is easy too. It goes well with heavy voices at proper distances. The construction is study and durable and won't give you problems apart from the fact that it's a bit hard to fit the regular ~Rs.500/- shock mounts you find on Amazon because they're good. Concluding, if your budget is around 7k, it would do you good to buy this mic and a good quality cable and if you're somewhere around 5k then reach out just a little bit because it'll be a good future proof investment for a while. Try not to use it with entry level interfaces like Behringer or vault as they will only rob the mic of its full potential. Good luck to you and keep making awesome music! I just received the package today (7 Sep. 2020) and tested the product immediately. The microphone sounds crispy and warm. It sounds very natural to the ears. It is well built and the product is really sturdy - not made of cheap plastic. However, keep in mind that it is quite heavy (keep this in mind if you are using a cheap boom mic stand). Now coming to the package i was so shocked and disappointed to find out that such an expensive item came without any proper protective coating. It was just packed with a think layer of its own cover and amazon sticker on it. And to my bigger dismay, I found out the package was already opened - meaning not a sealed pack. I was immediately skeptical about it and checked it immediately. But it seems to be working perfectly which is why I decided to keep it and not returned. It is my humble request to sellers: please pack any expensive and delicate items at least with some sort of foam or hard coating so that it's not damaged while it's being shipped. Because if the product gets damaged or scratched (which is no fault of the customer) we the innocent customers have to go through a hell hassle to request for a return or replacement or whatever. Pros: 1.Onboard switch option for a bass roll-off switch and 20dB pad add to this mic's versatility 2. Good for both vocal and instruments. Conclusion: This is a really good mic for those who are just starting out and also for those who are mid-range voice-over artists or singers. Fantastic. I initially had trouble getting the mic to work as I was using an xlr to 1/4 jack (single band), which was unable to deliver phantom power to the mic. When I used an xlr to xlr cable it started working perfectly.
