I live in the desert Southwest, where bright, intense sunlight is the norm. I was constantly struggling with my Canon R7's stock eyecup in those conditions, often having to press the camera firmly against my eye socket or use my free hand to shield the viewfinder from stray light. This replacement eyecup was exactly what I was looking for. It's large enough to effectively block sunlight and make the electronic viewfinder much easier to see, yet compact enough that it doesn't interfere with sliding the camera into my existing camera bag. Installation is straightforward. The original R7 eyecup is secured with two tiny screws, and this replacement conveniently includes the small screwdriver needed for the job. Overall, this is a well-designed, practical upgrade that has made using my R7 in bright desert conditions much more enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Was super easy to assemble and for such a small upgrade the increase in confort is significant. Plus if you donr like it for any reason the process is reversible. Good quality and it has held up well.

Very flimsy attachment points. I have had 2 of these and both broke after less than 6 weeks. The overall design is good, but they use a brittle, thin plastic catch to hold it in place. Just a few times storing/retrieving from a camera case was all it took to snap these off.
