Fun fun fun!
As someone who wanted to learn to dance as a very young child but was never given the chance I am by my own admission pretty awful and I am sure anyone who watches my attempts would say a gyrating ostrich comes to mind. Nevertheless I still want to learn and I am determined to do so. I only got this a couple of days ago and today Sunday I have tried it out. Its WONDERFUL. I kicked off by doing the section 1 which is learning the basic steps through 3 times in rapid succession. Ok I don't look like Hazel Fletcher or Gaynor Fairweather but I kind of mastered it in those 3 repeats which is very encouraging. Then I moved to section 2 which is a shortish workout with some slightly more challenging moves and I did that once. I thoroughly enjoyed all ot it however which means this is for me. There is no danger to my knees but I can still dance and workout and above all have fun doing it. I then moved on to my other workout routines feeling sweaty and confident what I had done today will make a difference (along with my Pilates, ballet warm up, general tone and stretch). If you are new to dance, this is the DVD to start and which will give You the chance to master some basic steps and gain a little confidence in the process. You are given the time needed to watch and follow and do it which is essential because the pace is right, the repetitions are enough but not too many and the music is quite nice. Its not full blown fantabulous Latin rhythm but for learning it really is enough to do the trick. I really do recommend this one

Slim 'N' Salsacise
I really enjoyed this DvD. If your someone who has never really done an exercise dvd or can't really stand the standard erobic type dvd this is the one for you. Its easy to get to grips with and you don't feel like your out of your debth. Most important this is really fun to do so you feel really good at the end and looking forward to your next session. This dvd is a good starting point if you are really serious about shaping up. Once your used to it you can move on to something abit more challanging and if not it will keep you healthy. I would say all in all this dvd is fun and to be used by people of moderate fitness. If you are someone who is no stranger to the gym then don't get this dvd to keep fit however i'd still recommend it for the fun factor.

Simple but good!
Basic steps easy to learn and do and quite fun. Steps are simple and slow at first and then increases in speed as you get better. Need a lot of space to do it justice and get decent cardio rhythm going. Can put steps to other salsa music if you have it.

Exactly what I wanted
I was looking for an exercise DVD that was dance based, but with easy steps and good music, and this is just right. There 3 stages of rising difficulty and to be honest I am still only using Stage one, but planning to move onto stage two soon where the steps will get harder, and perhaps a bit more vigorous. So far, it has been a great way to get started on exercise after months of not much - 20 minutes and you build up a mild sweat. What is great about it is that the music is Salsa music and you really do feel like you're dancing rather than just working out. It is fun, and therefore something easy to keep to. I wish there were more DVD's like this one featuring other kinds of dance - but with decent music.

Ideal for all!
If like me you have had no dance training and you are looking for a fun way to keep fit and have fun then look no further. I came onto Amazon to read the reviews before buying this (very reasonably priced) DVD and I decided it was worth a try. So many reviews say that the steps are hard to pick up or the person got bored after one or two tries. I wanted a programme that I could realistically pick up within a few days but more importantly something I would enjoy doing while getting fit. Rosemary Conley provides excellent instructions and gives you enough time to get used to each routine. I started with section one which I did over and over again until I felt ready to move onto section two. I can now do section 1 & 2 together which is around 35 minutes. Not yet ready to move onto section three but watch this space! It is fun and even for a complete novice, who is not particularly fit (I am 50 btw) it is attainable so I recommend you give it a go!

Good for beginners
I was hoping for a fast-paced, fun salsa workout, but this is definitely only for beginners. It is very slow, and doesn't provide much of a workout. However, I'm guessing if you're new to or coming back to exercise after quite some time, and are also new to dance, it would be a great video, but I personally found it to be painfully slow and not good for calorie burning. I'd give it one star, but I can see how beginners would like it and give it 5 stars, so I give it 3 on average.

I love this!
This is my favourite excercise DVD, its fun and you dont really feel like you are doing the 'traditional aerobic' type of workout. It really tones your hips and waist area. Its easy to follow for the un-coordinated(like myself!) and still makes me smile 12 months on! Its not for old people - as some reviews have stated - but hey what works for one person... This is a great workout for anyone who hates aerobics! and is not very fit, even my husband likes it and he has a lost a stone doing this 5 times a week, combined with a healthy diet. So all in all, a fun DVD which is achievable!

very enjoyable!
I have a few exercise dvd's which are okay but if I'm honest, they get a bit boring don't they? Same old, same old. I've done this a few times now and find it really enjoyable, probably because it's dancing and most of us like a jig now and then don't we so it feels more natural to do. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and if you have better coordination than I have you will be onto the second section in a very short time. The music in the second section is better and easier to move to as you develop an easier rhythm. I still have to get the hips wiggling, feet/arms/hands and all going at the same time but I will get there! You will find you have to go a bit slower than an exercise video as they always seem to go at speed and I have found I'm working faster at times, but again, it's just something to get used to. If you want a pleasant way to exercise then buy this and enjoy. The only negative is that in the 'chapters' you have to stop the dvd and start again if you want to repeat a section as it doesn't go back to a list which is just a little annoying. The only other negative is the weird looks I get from my cat watching me prancing around but you don't have to put up with that....................
