UPDATE: kindly note that they do make a version specifically designed for beards. My bearded friend has used both and much prefers the design for beards (the tape is solid black so you won’t mix them up if you happen to have both). Recommended by my myofunctional therapist since it actually activates your muscles instead of just having the tape hold your lips together. I used to use 3m surgical tape (a small, vertical strip as adviced in Breath by James Nestor) to allow for airflow on the sides, but it felt restrictive and there’s something about having your mouth taped shut that’s disconcerting when you’re trying to fall asleep. I love that you can mouth breath if you absolutely need to with this tape, and it’s really nice to be able to still talk or take a sip of water or cough or sneeze. It’s also less restrictive/confusing/alarming to wake up with this tape (as opposed to having my mouth taped completely shut) if I happen to wake up in the night. When this tape works well it’s practically perfect, and when it doesn’t work well it’s because I had lotion or chapstick preventing it from sticking. It helps to cleanse the area first, press on firmly, and then apply chapstick or lotion after it’s stuck on properly. I haven’t had any breakouts or irritation and find the adhesive to be just right— so long as my skin is lotion-free before applying! I recently had my tongue tie released and between that procedure, myofuntional therapy, and mouth tape, I’m breathing easy for the first time in my life. I’m working with an airway dentist to expand my airway for a permanent solution (going to take a while), but in the mean time I’m grateful for this tape! She recommended a nasal strip, Xclear xylitol spray, and mouth taping every night. It’s been a total game changer for me and my family members who have been willing to try.

These are useless. They don’t work and will not stay on. It was a complete waste of money and not eligible for return. Stay away from this product.

For years my wife suffered through my obnoxious snoring. There was no way I was going the CPAP route unless a doctor told me there was a medical reason to do so. I ran across the (regular) version of Myotape online pretty much by accident. It seemed gimmicky, but the price was low enough that I decided, what the hell, I'll try it. Ordered the 99 pack of the beard version. One: the general concept of mouth taping worked immediately and "as advertised". My problem went away literally "over night". Two, while I see from other reviews that the beard adhesion does not work for some others, it has worked fine for me (note that I have a mustache/goatee, not a full beard, and I am able to reach some skin left and right of my lips - and in any case my stache/goatee is not thick). Don't know that I have experienced any of the other supposed nose-breathing benefits, like better sleep or fresher mouth - but that's not what I got it for. My wife loves the silence. I never notice it being on until after waking up in the morning. Couldn't be more satisfied.

I don’t know what it’s supposed to stick on, but it doesn’t stick on your beard or your face. I washed it with alcohol and it still would not stick unreliable product plus it was too small on top of it all I do not recommend you buy this product due to the effective Two small and does not stick buyer beware

I use CPAP therapy for sleep apnea, but my mask doesn't cover my mouth, and recently I've started having my mouth open a bit while sleeping. That causes 1) less effective therapy, and 2) a very dry mouth. I tried using a chin strap with my mask: no good. I tried using another style of mouth sleep tape that covers the entire mouth, but that made me feel a bit claustrophobic (plus, it's actually unsafe; you're at risk of aspirating your own mouth or sinus fluids if you have a coughing spell during sleep, or if you become nauseated and--let's just say--regurgitate). This tape has a good design idea: allow the mouth to open a bit it needed, but basically hold the lower and upper jaws together. The tape is very soft, not stiff or uncomfortable. The adhesive could be a bit stronger, though; sometimes a mouth tape starts to come loose at a corner, then just peels up on its own through the night. Then the loose bit becomes annoying and the tape isn't doing its job to keep my mouth closed, which both make for disrupted sleep. It may be that the designers or manufacturers didn't take into account that many people have to use face and lip moisturizers at bedtime. I will probably order this again - maybe in a larger size, even though I am an adult with a small mouth and jaw. Or I will search for a similar design concept and try that...

Sticky residue and yet not effective at advesive: i bought small size not good fit & doesn’t keep mouth sealed well. Waste of money bc 1 of every 4 don’t stick at all. tape leaves sticky residue & tingly feel that does not go away. Mouth hole too large & tape sticky and not always effective bc too loose/not resistant to stretching once on face

Nice product in that it doesn't rip your skin off when you go to remove it. However the whole is pretty big. I'm going to see if it helps more to have one that has a smaller hole. I don't think it helps as much as I was hoping, as it lets you open your mouth pretty easily. It helps, but I still get quite a bit of leak with my My Level Pap machine. I don't know if it would help with snoring or not. I think I'll try one of the ones that has a smaller hole

Never wrote a review on Amazon before but I’m so impressed with these little patches. I initially bought these for my 11 year old son who has struggled for years with stuffy nose. It gently encouraged his mouth to close at night / this did not occur straight away. It took just over a week of use for him to sleep with his mouth fully closed. He was actually asking for his mouth taped. I could really notice how much more alert he was and generally more willing to do stuff. I thought I’d give it a go too and I am not a snorer and don’t consider myself to have any issues as such. I can’t believe the difference it has made to my restorative sleep and resting heart rate metrics almost immediately. HRV is up. I feel so much more rested. I would consider myself to be an healthy individual and have worn a fitness tracker for years. I have never been able to achieve some of the metrics that have occurred overnight from taping my tape. I am amazed! Husband is now trying them.
