INSTRUCTION HOW TO USE (surface of wood, metal or other materials): STEP 1: Clean the surface to make it smooth without any dirt. STEP 2: Use the glue with brushes (if gilding large area,it's better to use water-based glue,otherwise the oily glue). Beautiful finish to a cake for an extra special occasion.
Added that extra special touch to my sister’ birthday cake. The sheets are small, thank goodness, because there is a definite knack to using them. I had great fun trying though, and eventually managed to achieve a fairly acceptable result. The party guests were impressed with the cake and, I believe, that the gold leaf raised that to a different level.Yes it is expensive but it IS gold, after all, and there’s enough little sheets in a pack to cover a considerable area, even though I wasted some of the sheets, because it was the first time I had tried using gold leaf.
