Worth The Money
I almost rented an SDS Max and 2" core bit from HD which would have been $157 for the four hour minimum. I own the SDS Plus 8 amp corded so I opted for trying this to save Ma money for her new water lines through 8" of 1960's concrete basement wall. I was drilling about 6' high from the inside out and my biggest concern was hitting rebar. That was the biggest concern until I started drilling. I did everything I could to mitigate hitting rebar using strong magnets, stud finders, measurements from known rebar locations, etc.. I calculated as best as I could and that part paid off because I didn't hit any rebar. However, I spent a total of about 30 minutes drill time getting it punched through because of the jokers who used inch and a half aggregate in the concrete mix. The bit did its job and still looks really good for what I expected. The bigger aggregate made me work harder and when I wasn't fighting getting through a mini-boulder it made dust and would eat almost an inch a minute. I only had 3 mini-boulders and 2 were at the same time which is what really slowed the progress. The bit slowed down on the larger rocks and I had to be patient and let it cut its way through, but it still cut smooth even when it was gnawing its way through them. I was expecting to affirm or deny its ability to handle rebar, but fortunately I was unable to provide such information. Overall pleasantly surprised and happy with the price and quality. Saved $$ and time overall. Plus, I now own a 2 inch core bit if I ever need one again.

Worked great on old brick. Saved me money over paying someone to do.
Worked great. Held up well to 100+ year old 4 brick thick walls x2 holes with the 2 3/4” bit. I initially used an older Bosch SDS Hammer drill with the hammer setting off (as is nicely written on a sticker on the side of the new bit to remind you). That clutched drill ended up not working as well as a cheap standard 1/2” hammer drill from Far From Great Harbor Freight (also with hammer mode off) which did not have a clutch. Found it very nice that this core bit included both SDS and standard drill attachments! Be prepared to feather the trigger because it does bind up occasionally and you could be in for a black eye if you’re not careful and it gets away from you! I even hit the corner of a steel I beam at one point and had to adjust my hole by about 1” to avoid hitting it. Despite the metal I beam and the old and very hard brick, each 12” deep hole only required about 5-10 minutes of actual drilling. I allowed a bit of time every few minutes for my HF drill to cool down. Even with hitting metal, the teeth/diamonds still look great and clearly have more life in them! Everyone said to use the 2 3/4” bit for mini split line set (1/4” and 3/8” lines from Della), but I could’ve easily fit them thru 2 1/2” or probably even 2 1/4” hole… I used a small piece of 1/2” plywood with a similar sized hole cut in it that I pressed by hand against the brick to guide my core bit in order to get the hole started about 1/4” deep after which I then removed the plywood… worked great to keep the bit from wandering. As long and heavy as this bit plus a rotary drill is on a ladder, I had a very hard time starting the hole accurately without the plywood centering guide, even trying at an angle like the instruction sheet says. Also, once started, I used the HERCULES Hammer Drilling Universal Dust Collection Attachment from HF with a small shop vac to collect a lot of the dust and it worked well even tho it said only for bits 2 5/8” max… I removed the brushed baffles by clicking it out and 2 3/4” core bit fit like a glove! Good luck! If you need to drill a big hole in masonry, go for it. This bit worked great for me! Wear your eye, ear, and dust protection!

Impressive- cuts like butter
Tough and effective core drill bit. I needed to core two 2” holes through my foundation. This bit did the job easily- through 10” of concrete and multiple rebars. Cuts through the concrete like butter. Slows at the rebar but cuts that too. I’m extremely impressed with this bit. Half the cost of renting a core machine (which I’ve done in the past - but it wasn’t this easy).

Good Budget Core Bit for Limited Projects, Not Heavy Daily Use
I used this SALI 4" diamond core drill bit for a couple of concrete drilling projects where I needed a reasonably priced option without stepping up to a much more expensive professional-grade bit. For the price, it performed better than expected. It cut cleanly through concrete and maintained decent speed as long as pressure and cooling were managed properly. The 5/8-11 thread fit securely on my equipment without any issues, and the laser-welded segments appeared solid during use. For occasional work, this is a good value. It’s capable enough for homeowners, light contractors, or anyone tackling a limited number of drilling jobs without wanting to spend premium money on a bit that may sit unused afterward. The drilling depth is also useful for thicker walls and slab penetrations where shorter bits become limiting. The reason this isn’t a 5-star rating is durability over extended use. In my experience, this is more of a one- or two-job core bit rather than something I’d expect to survive heavy daily professional use. It works well within its intended price range, but if you’re drilling large numbers of holes commercially, you’ll probably want a higher-end bit with longer lifespan and faster cutting consistency.

Worked great on 9" foundation.
This diamond core drill bit worked great to drill two holes through a 9" concrete foundation. I need to relocate the oil fill and whistle pipes for our oil tank and was going to have someone drill the holes in addition to repiping. The cost of drilling was very high so I decided to do it myself with this bit and a $50 1/2 drill I picked up. The drill bit was really great and I got both holes drilled in just over an hour. I had never used this type of bit before so didn't know what I was in for, but this bit worked great and I'm very happy with the results. Saved a lot of money doing it myself and now have a 1/2 inch drill and coring bit for future projects. Nice, high quality bit. Comes with two adapters. I'm not sure if you can use this with a hammer drill or not. Read the description thoroughly to see. Also, if you haven't done this before, the bit will (like any bit) bind at times and with a high torque drill will spin the drill violently, so be careful how you hold it. Don't use your belly to press the drill. The bit also does not require water, but water helped to clear out the dust from the hole which seemed to keep things moving along more smoothly and faster, though the hollow core bit does have slots to let the dust fall out. Really happy I was able to use this to do these holes myself.

Did the job through 3 in face brick no problem
This Really Works! I was skeptical for the price, and coming from China via Amazon. This is something that none of the big box stores had a available. In the past I would have to use a 3/8 this masonry bit as a guide followed by air chissel to make a hole for wiring or plumbing through brick or block. Ugly but effective. Also very time consuming. This bored a clean 1 1/8 hole with ease. If there is a complaint it would be that there is no pilot with this. Instructions suggest starting at a 15 degree angle then come to 90 degrees. It takes a small bit of practice but the technique works. In this case, the hole was for a new outdoor silcock on my house. Very clean installation appearance. There was no suggestion or reference to a hammer drill. A competing ( and far more expensive ) boring drill company said DO NOT use hammer drill mode as it could damage the cutting tips. I used my 3/8 Dewalt hammer drill in the DRILL mode only and found that it cut through very nicely. I wouldn't say like butter, more like hardwood with a dull bit. Bottom line for me is this is a real winner. I suspect that I could easily bore several more masonry holes without difficulty. This was $38 well spent! The last hole I had to make for wiring, I almost never give any review 5 stars but the work and effort it saved me deserves 5 stars! Even if it was for one hole!!

Good quality but didn't go the distance.
Good quality but didn't go the distance. I was able to get most of the way through the foundation before the end of the bit fell apart. The foundation was approx 10" thick. The bit worked quickly in getting 8"-8.5" through before the teeth broke off. It was pretty impressive up to that point and I do realize that I may have been asking too much from it.

Buena herramienta...
