For my purposes it was a cure based measure as I needed something to keep me from being bitten by fleas!Infested with them I woke to having been bitten some SIXTY times on each leg, which resulted in several sleepless nights here in the height of summer, the scratching was euphoric and murder at the same time, and anything would trigger it. - but how to prevent further bites?The idea was to adorn an impenetrable barrier to simply keep my piece of mind, I simply imagined them crawling and feasting on my legs all of the time, I couldn’t concentrate, sleep or stop scratching, it was no joke. So these latex socks would hopefully do the trick, along with some latex leggings.Initially difficult to put on, just persevere, it’s best to outstretch them all the way to the heal and organise afterwards. I thought at first that talcum powder would best avoid friction, but that’s too messy an option, after all these will been worn during waking hours for much of the day, it better to use a simple thin cotton socks. I don’t need to worry about bed time because I now sleep in a room which is flea free, thankfully!I take the largest size on offer, and while it’s a little bit of a squeeze, the human body adapts and in the back of your mind you know its a good thing and that allows for the extended period of time wearing them. After am entire days use you will find it takes a while for you to get comfortable with yourself after removing the latex sock, but that’s why God built your nose at the other end of your body. I recommend washing yourself and the sock after a day to wearing it, in humid night’s heat it will be dry by the morning.Putting on the latex stock is a chore, but removing it is a simple case of rolling it off, rolling it off like a condom in reverse. I recommend leaving the late text sock inside out overnight. I did find however that after washing the latex sock that it would cling together, I don’t know if that’s due to any residual soap, but I did give mine a thorough rinse, it must just be the way latex behaves?The system I employed to defend myself against fleas also included a pair of latex leggings, as mentioned. These on the inside are lined with cotton for easy slip on, but on the exterior have the impenetrable latex finish to complement the latex sock, the leggings run over the knee give complete protection as fleas favour the lower leg area.The full flea protection system:1. Put on a thin pair of normal cotton socks2. Put on the latex leggings (which have a stirrup)3. Put on the latex sockI found that I received ZERO Bites or even attention from the hard-core gorilla fleas I was still in battle with. I don’t know if they can’t sense my body heat or natural pheromones through the latex, but they don’t even try it from what I can see. Of course the white of the latex sock (if you chose a white pair) easily reveals any black specs that will be fleas, but the black-patent latex leggings wouldn’t.Wearing the system is odd at first, I would advise giving yourself a little bit of extra cotton sock before putting on the latex sock as it pulls everything with it. But you get used to it, and like I said it’s peace of mind is priceless, allowing you to focus on your work (if you work from home) and time for the bites to heal as you don’t scratch them (any scratching is mediated by the latex, preventing any contamination, of which having a dedicated left and right sock really makes sense), but in my case it took ten sleepless knights for my bites to heal, but at least I didn’t get any new bites.I take the largest size, and while the latex sock does fit a UK size ten, you’ll know you’re wearing it. The problem is the extremely small leg hole that the foot has to go through.. I am a lady with long slender legs.
