Worked out the box without any issues, just plug and play. Creates a very stable ethernet connection, especially for streaming.

Most importantly for me, this will connect a Chromecast to ethernet and provide enough power. Testing across different devices and speed testers shows this is only capable of ~95mbps despite our fibre being at 300mbps. That's acceptable as it's about half the cost of better quality ones, and good enough for streaming anyway, but I do think it's being falsely advertised.

Update: returning it! It lasted 10 mins and lost connection. It's more than just power hungry it just doesn't work! Original review.... Using on a Google TV 4k. So far so good. Took some effort to setup, would not recognise at all finally saw some life when I put in on a bigger wattage power plug. I've got it on a 20w usb C plug now and it's connected and gives 340mbps as pictured ( I've got 1gbps Virgin broadband so doesn't seem to reach the full potential but good enough and better than the 30mbps I was getting from WiFi connection. Will see how it works over the next few days I'm concerned it may drop out as its so power hungry we will see! For reference you don't need to adjust any settings on the Google TV just turn of WiFi once it detects ethernet.

Works perfectly with both 1080 and 4k Chromecast

This unit works very well does exactly what I wanted. Arrived very fast as is normal with amazon. Very pleased

Took the opportunity to use this on a iPad in an area where wifi is weak and this adapter work perfectly that allows me to connect to the internet and charge at the same time. My network will not allow me to test the 1000Mbps claimed limit of this port but I can confirm I do get over 100Mbps which would confirm the port is indeed and 1Gbps port. The adapter also comes with 2 sticking pad so can attach it in place. The price is a little on the steep side for what you get. It is possible to get USB-C network adapter dock that can be used with things like Amazon fire stick and Chromecast. These can also include USB-A port so you can connect external storage.
