Pleased with my purchase
Spent hours looking in stores and reading online testing reviews before making my selection on a microwave. Really wanted one with an Air Fry mode. Downloaded the instructions and placed my order.Once the GE 4-in-1 arrived, I set the new microwave on my kitchen counter and plugged it in. Set the clock and disabled the child safety door lock. There is a way to lock the control panel to prevent it from accidently being started. It is much quieter than other microwaves I have owned. Was concerned about purchasing this unit as there is no way to disable the sound and reviews mentioned the โbeepingโ / โscreamingโ sound. Once the cycle is finished it beeps 4 times and although I have excellent hearing, I did not find it offensive. As a reminder, it will beep once a minute until you either open the door or press cancel. The preset control guide is a sticker on top of the microwave. Wish they had placed it on the interior trim as depending where the microwave is set, it wonโt be visible. In addition, the font is about a 6 or 8. This did not discourage me.Tried the microwave mode first. Then the reheat feature. Then defrost.Next I tested the convection oven. I pre-heated and baked some cinnamon rolls using the rack and pan that came with the unit. The rolls came out soft and fluffy. The fan continued to run to cool down the oven. A short time later I opened the door, the oven beeped and the display showed โHotโ as a warning. The final mode I tested was the air fry. Had never used an air frier in the past. Air fried curly potato fries from scratch. They turned out crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.Have had this microwave a short period of time, but in all my tests, this GE 4-in-1 performs as it should. I am VERY PLEASED AND SATISIFIED with my purchase.

one of my favorite kitchen products
When I first used the microwave, I was skeptical that it really could perform several functions, including convention air-fry. But it really does. The extra features make this a standout product that will help save counter space. Egg rolls, for example are heated and crispy perfectly. Another feature I like is the 'pause' button, so you can stir a food without having to turn the system on and off.

Holds moisture, rusts quickly, and is made with cheap plastic parts that break.
Had this microwave for right at a year- was never really able to use the air fryer function, unless it was solely for something basic like chicken nuggets. Anything else, youโre better off just using an oven because it takes soo long. So, we ended up needing to have an air fryer out in addition to the microwave, even though my whole purpose for buying one they did both, was to free up counter space.Weโve always noticed a large amount of moisture build up inside, as well. To the point that after cooking anything with water, sauce, gravy etc- weโd have to wipe it down from top to bottom on the inside. I mean, it would be dripping down the sides and door. Within 6 mo, there was a rusty build up on the inside. The photo is of a clean microwave, but rusted one.The warning beeps have been annoying too, as others have stated. It locks back within seconds of stopping it. And when you open the door, it beeps and beeps and beeps, telling you that the food is hot. Just loud and obnoxious. Most recently, I went to push the button to heat something up, and it just pushed in all the way, and wouldnโt open. There is no alternate way to open the microwave if this happens either. Without taking it apart. My husband had to take the whole cover and front panel off, disconnect the wires, just to find where the issue was- which was a cheap plastic piece that unlatches the door, had snapped off of the part holding it together. We looked up the cost to replace just that part (because everything else essentially works fine) and through GEโs website, itโs $212. Dang near the price of a brand new one! The cheapest we found one anywhere else, was $96. For a plastic latch! So, an already fairly expensive microwave, completely useless after one year, because itโs made with a $100 piece of plastic. Just dumb. Also, when he took the cover off to find the broken piece, we noticed there was an extreme build up of RUST on the inside panel, from where the inside vent is, to let out moisture. Instead of coming out of the side vent, like it should- itโs just dripping down into the microwave itself!Very poorly designed and cheaply made. With way too expensive replacement parts.Luckily, I hadnโt thrown out my 20 year old microwave, and was able to bring it in from the garage, because my 1 year old, way more expensive oneโs button doesnโt work. The old one works perfect. Just wanted something that looked nicer and had more functions so we didnโt need multiple appliances on the counter ๐

The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly, of GE 4-n-1 Microwave
Well I thought I was getting the Panasonic 4-n-1 and somehow ended up with GEโs. The WORST thing is no real user manuel. You canโt look up when to use the special rack & pan or where. You canโt look up โbroilโ, or โconvectionโ and get complete constructions. They just have a highly general sheet and the rest is purely up to you to find your way & guess.I hopped on YouTube to look for a full-on film! None by either GE nor customers that did a complete explanation. GEโs is just a commercial & most people got on to rave about the Hot-Air Fry or Microwave. Some complained that the turn table breaks easily and so does the open catch. Iโd say, release the Childproof lock (their little sheet tells you how) so as not to wear out parts double pressing!THE BAD: The THING THAT IS A TRULY HORRIBLE DESIGN is they didnโt make the face light up with all options illuminated so you can read them. It SHOULD BE that when you set the clock, and it shines, so should all the option. You honestly CANNOT READ THE OPTIONS. They are written in tiny white inset and we have to keep a flashlight on top of this unit to read Microwave, Broil, Convection, Hot-Air Fry, Times, etc. They JUST HAD TO KNOW it was impossible to read!!!THE UGLY: Youโre stuck with it. I contacted GE & there is noting you are doing wrong if you canโt read the Face panel. Get a magnetic flashlight to stick it on the side of this unit!THE GOOD: Microwave Function seems great (so far) and you can adjust the watts. Convection Function is just a dream & is really an addition Air Fryer! Hot-Air fryer perfect (although people seem to not know whether the pan is for frying food or is a drip pan underneath (or both). Instructions donโt say how they are used for each of the Four Functions. What is strange is getting use to putting things metal in a microwave or forgetting to remove metal pans when switching to Microwave (BE CAREFUL). I do this by reminding myself โNow Iโm switching to BROILโ, โNow Iโm using CONVECTION Commandsโ. โOh back to Microwave and are all Metals out?โ Retrain yourselves! You can save A LOT of counter-space by having this one unit replace four!CONCLUSION, this might be a great item once GE corrects: Option Panel Illumination (or lack thereof), Open Catch, and Turntable. Iโd say, go with the 4-n-1 Panasonic (rates #1). GE is #3.

Great combo; worth the extra $
It really is so different than a microwave. The ability to heat food up in the air fry mode is so much better than turning my gas oven. And then be able to microwave. It took a little to get used to the controls but now it's fine. A little odd that the main microwave button "Cook time" is in a random spot rather than at the top or highlight it somehow. Wish companies used white type on black rather than the light grey (I ain't getting any younger!). It is also a bit underpowered but not a big deal. The most annoying this this thing beeps soooo loud! So loud. I contacted GE to see if the volume could be turned down and they said no. It's loud like something extremely dangerous is happening with the oven. Lol. Overall much better than a regular microwave.

How to get a replacement!
Terrible product and even worse customer service. This only worked for 6 months !!! Very disappointing

Great stove that won't shut up!!
As a microwave, an air fryer, a convection oven, etc, this is a great unit. It has a relatively small footprint on the counter and does what several appliances would do. That's where my admiration for this oven stops. First, the programming is insane. GE turned its back on half a century of experience and came up with their own scene that is the opposite of intuitive .. to the point that they put a sticker on the top to keep the explanation handy. Worst of all, it screams bloody murder all the time; when it reaches preheat temp, when your cycle is done, halfway through when it tells you to turn food but worst of all, when you open the door after using a heat function .. it screeches long, super loud tones even after you've opened the door. This could only be the work of their attorneys who made sure nobody could open an oven without begin WARNED THAT OVENS ARE HOT!! Really, I've live to a ripe old age without learning this. The wave of heat coming out of it isn't warning enough. The LED emblazoned with HOT isn't enough. Our master bedroom is just off the kitchen so when one of us stays up after the other, we really appreciate the incredibly loud and long tones. I contacted GE to see if this can be turned down or better, turned off and of course it can't be .. that might upset their legal department. In reality, this thing and a lot of other things in our world need not make a peep. There is plenty of confirmation feedback from seeing the display when pushing buttons. So who does everything screech (this worse than any other)? I gather because it can. Their misguided effort to give the "impression of value". I almost returned it but do like it as an oven. Maybe I can gouge out the piezo. If you value a life with less noise pollution, you'll not want this product.
