AUSTOR Desoldering Sucker and 6 Pcs Solder Braid Wick with Flux

A great solder sucker and braid wick. Just found them as lifesavers in recent projects.

Used in swapping batteries on GBA carts. Worked fine for it. The pump ranged from mildly effective to useless. The braid cleaned up what the pump couldn't. It was my first time soldering, so I didn't have any of this stuff on hand already, so getting a small variety was a good comfort - I knew some part of this would definitely do what I needed, even if I wasn't certain exactly which part that would be. I know this doesn't sound like a 5-star review, but what it boils down to is that I didn't pay much and I'm happy with the results after using the product. Is there better gear out there? I'm certain there is. But this was the right price for this package.

These are very easy and great to use! The wick has no issues absorbing solder on surface mount pads, or in through holes. Cleans all the solder up really well! It has flux in the wick and it seems perfectly adequate. The spindle holders easily melt though, especially if you're using the soldering iron close to it. The solder sucker works well especially if you're using hot air to melt the solder in the through holes, then use the sucker to pull the solder out. Kinda gets jammed up but eventually the excess solder builds up and the metal pin inside grabs on enough to eject it out. Can't go wrong trying these out if you're new to soldering or just starting out. Most important thing is properly flowing/heating everything and not using force causing pads to rip off the PCB.

No seriously the title isn't wrong. It sucks the solder straight out. Does its job. Just don't forget to clean it.

Works well like having different sizes of solder wick

The device works and all the rolls of solder were there. The rolls were packed as sets, if you don't look close it appears there is only one roll of each. I think that's why some are claiming they didn't receive all the rolls. IDK. My order was complete as far as that goes. For the price, I don't expect much longevity from the suction device but so far it has worked quite well for my needs and I am quite satisfied.

Did not expect much for the price, however I was wrong to have low expectations. The pump is great, actually have a comfort hand grip, it’s easy to use, and the durability is pretty nice on it. Very happy with the wick as well.

Its a cheap decent product that works but after 50 uses the tool came apart and I had to put it together again. Solderbraid is ok, be carful using it to not tear off a pad like I did.

Sucker works extremely well and feels good in the hand.

This AUSTOR desoldering kit is exactly what I needed for doing my own technical troubleshooting and electronics maintenance. I recently used it for repairing the ignition switch on my 2012 Ram 1500, and it worked perfectly. The solder sucker has surprisingly strong suction and is very easy to operate one-handed, making it simple to pull old solder off of control boards and wiring in tight spaces. The included solder wick braids are a fantastic bonus—there are plenty of them, and they soak up any leftover solder flawlessly to leave a clean work surface. It is a very handy, well-made set to have in the toolbox for whenever automotive wiring or household appliance repairs pop up. If you do your own electrical maintenance, this is a highly recommended kit.

The tool worked flawlessly until something gave way leading the entire pump to explode in my hands, I suspect the spring breaking something
