Good performer, good value for money
In my garden I use a lot of sprinkler timers for actual sprinklers but also for drip irrigation and soaker hoses. With hot summers, my water bill can quickly get out of hand without them. One problem I occasionally have is cross threading plastic fittings thus ruining a timer so getting one with brass fittings appealed to me. I found the brass threads easier to connect to other fittings, enough so that I will prefer them for most future timer purchases. I do need to be careful when connecting hoses with aluminum fittings to brass - they need teflon wraps or other anti-seize methods to prevent galvanic corrosion. The timer itself is great. It is very easy to program and use. Reading the display in very bright sun is difficult so I try to install the timer in a position that minimizes the glare. I've used Rainpoint products for several years and have found them to be very reliable as long as I remember to drain them and put them up for the winter. I'm pleased with this timer and expect it will hold up as well as the others I have from Rainpoint.

GREAT!
I have 2 of these now and both work perfectly for a couple months now. Pretty easy to set up after you begin to see the pattern. Very durable. Instructions were spot-on. We went off on vacation and these timers gave me peace of mind that everything would survive in our gardens over the week.

Solid build and easy setup
I was pleasantly surprised by how easy this was to set up. Everything threaded together smoothly and the installation only took a few minutes. One thing I really appreciate is that the threaded connections are metal instead of plastic. I’ve had similar products fail in the past because the plastic threads stripped out over time, so seeing metal fittings here was a big plus and gives me a lot more confidence in the durability. Overall it feels well-built, straightforward to install, and thoughtfully designed. Very happy with it so far and would definitely recommend.

Water timer
item works extremely well. Easily programmable. Better than most units because it does a soft close on water supply lines and Does not slam shut. Worth every penny. I am buying a second.

Only worked for 2 days!
In the past, I've used Orbit brand timers. They've worked okay, but end up breaking after a few years. I decided to try a different brand, and spend a little more to hopefully get something that would last longer. Well, this one lasted me 3 days. The box had instructions on it, telling how to activate the valves prior to using (see attached picture), which I did, and the valves seemed to be just fine. I set it up, and it worked fine for two days. Then on the third day, it failed completely. I had it set to start at 5 am, and run for 30 minutes. I woke up at 7 am, and noticed the sprinklers were still running. I went outside, thinking I had messed up the run time on it. However, that was not the case. I switched the dial to "off", and both sprinklers were still running. Clearly, the valve to shut off the water flow was not working on either outlet, so I just shut off the water at the spigot. I tried turning it back on the next day to see if the valves were back to working, but it just flowed freely again. Very frustrating that this only lasted 2 days before breaking, and even more angering because now I have to pay for 2 hours of watering, which flooded my yard and washed away some of the fresh grass seed I'd just spread. I will be returning this for a refund.

No more garden regrets
This has been an absolute game changer for managing my garden. I wish I'd learned of it sooner! I have it set to water my planter boxes for 3 minutes every morning and I only adjust it if it rains. It is easy to set up and has been very reliable. I haven't had to change the battery yet and I've been using it since August. With the two different zones, I'm able to adjust each zone to meet the watering needs of different areas of my garden. I'll definitely be using more of these in other areas of my yard. I thought that I had to invest in an expensive drip irrigation system, but this and a soaker hose have taken care of my garden with such easy set up! I am very happy.

Lived up to its reviews.
This is a pretty impressively built unit. Very easy to program. Smooth dial selector. Brass connectors should hold up much better than typical plastic exposed to the sun.

Since it’s still winter here, I couldn’t install this sprinkler timer outside yet, but I still wanted to test it before spring arrives. I connected it to my water supply in my garage to make sure everything worked properly and to check for leaks. After running water through both zones, everything worked smoothly and I didn’t notice any leaks at the connections. The first thing I appreciated is the metal hose connectors. They screw onto the hose easily and feel reliable when tightening them. The package also includes extra gaskets and even a small roll of teflon tape, which is helpful if you ever need to improve the seal on your hose connections. The timer is designed with two separate watering zones, meaning you can connect two hoses at the same time. For example, one hose could water a garden bed while the other could run a sprinkler for the lawn. The control system is actually very simple once you look at the dial. The main selector knob lets you choose what you want to set: • Clock – set the current time • Start time – choose when watering begins • How long – set the watering duration • How often – choose how frequently it runs The housing also looks well sealed, which should help protect the timer from rain and outdoor weather once it’s installed outside. After selecting a setting with the dial, you adjust the value using the + and – buttons. The screen shows the programmed time and the next watering cycle so it’s easy to check your schedule. The timer runs on standard batteries, which makes it easy to replace them when needed. You can also switch between Zone 1 and Zone 2, which lets you program each hose separately. There’s also a manual mode, which is useful if you simply want to turn on the water for a short time without changing your schedule. A few things I noticed while testing it: • Metal hose connectors tighten securely and feel reliable • Extra gaskets and teflon tape are included in the box • Two zones allow two hoses to run from one faucet • Screen clearly shows the next watering time • Programming is simple using the dial and buttons • Manual mode is handy for quick watering Even though I tested it indoors for now, everything worked very well during my setup and water test. The connections stayed dry and the controls were easy to understand. Once spring arrives and I install it outside for my garden, it should be convenient to have watering scheduled automatically.

I got this a bit ago but I had to wait for it to be warm enough outside to try it out. So I finally got to try it and it is pretty neat! First setting the clock is so easy. Some things you need a manual to figure out how to set everything but this is so straight forward. Just turn the dial to set clock and it is set. I love that it has 2 zones on it and you can run different hoses for different times and frequency. In our garden we grow different vegetables with different water requirements so this will be nice. Each zone is easy to set up as well For frequency it can be set to go anywhere from every 1hr up to every 7days. I find this useful if I need to water more often than once a day. It is very easy to change as well if you want to change it because you have had a lot of rain. You can choose how long to have it run each time as well. Although it is strange because it shows you can set the hour but when I pushed the up button it wouldn't change. I could only set the minutes up to 59min. This isnt a huge issue though because I would never run more than 20min or so at a time. I like that you can also choose to completely shut it to off if you want to without having to take it off the water hose thing. Another thing that is neat, is that it cycles between the time and when the zones will run next. This way, you dont have to press buttons to see what it is set for if you forget. Just a quick glance tells you when it is supposed to run. Overall I think it will be very useful and would even consider buying more. I am unsure how long it will last because I haven't used it more than once to test it out. I can update when I know more if it breaks down or something.

I really like this water timer from RAINPOINT as it is so intuitive to use and it works great as well. The timer comes with some teflon tape and a spare filter with a washer. Two manuals are included, a quick start guide and a more in-depth manual. Two AA batteries are required for this timer to work and unfortunately they are not included. This timer is pretty versatile and I can set it to water as short as every hour to every 7 days and I can water for as short as 1 minute to 3 hours and 59 minutes. The timer has smart programming, for example, if I set the timer to start every two hours then I can only set the "How Long" setting to under 2 hours. The timer does make a noticeable snap when turning on and off and/or switching between the two zones. When the timer is "ON", the current time is displayed followed by the status of zone 1 and zone 2. If the water is not running, the status of zone 1 and 2 shows at what time they will start. If water is running for zone 1, the status shows how much longer the water will run for zone 1 followed by when zone 2 will start. The timer is always providing real time information that I can see within 10 seconds. The delay option is neat. Pressing and holding the delay button gives me three options to select from: 24, 48 or 72 hours. When selected, the time is no longer shown on the display but the countdown in hours and minutes before the timer will start up again. Pressing and holding the delay button a 2nd time, terminates the delay mode. The timer does not turn off the display when in the 'Off' position so the batteries are always in play. I did try fully charged Ni-MH batteries in this timer and they do work but since they start at 1.2 volts, the timer shows them as low and must be replaced. If the batteries get too low, the timer will shut off and my programming will be lost but RAINPOINT has included a super feature within this timer. Before the batteries are completely dead, I can remove the batteries from the timer and insert new ones without losing my program and the set time. From my tests, I must get the new batteries inserted within 55 seconds. The only thing that I do not like with this timer is there is no 'Stop Time'. I plan to reseed my front yard this spring and since it is very important to keep the seed damp for germination, I would need to turn on the water every 2 hours or so for about 10 minutes. I normally do this between 9 AM and 5 PM when the sun is the hottest for 7 to 14 days. It turns out this timer can do this task great but since there is no stop time, the timer will continue to water at 7PM, 9PM and 11PM. I will need to go out and turn the dial to Off after the 5PM watering and back on in the morning before 9AM which is not that bad as the timer takes care of the rest of the day. Overall, a super timer that will save me loads of time this spring.

I ordered this sprinkler timer because my neighbour recommended it to me. He had good experience with the Rainpoint brand before as he already owns two of their single zone timers, and they’ve been amazing, very reliable, solid quality, and they’ve lasted a long time without any issues. One of my biggest challenges is my large front yard. Before getting this, I constantly had to move the sprinkler from one side to the other because it just wouldn’t cover the whole area. Sometimes I even had to go outside at weird hours to turn the water off or switch positions, which was so annoying. This timer completely fixes that problem. I connected it to my main water supply, attached two hoses, and now it takes care of everything automatically. What I really like is the flexibility. I can run zone 1 or zone 2 on their own or have both running at the same time depending on what the yard needs. Setting it up was straightforward. You can choose between a 12-hour or 24-hour clock, and program start times, stop times, or even soaking schedules, which is great for deeper watering. Another feature I appreciate is the rain delay. If rain is in the forecast, I can pause watering for up to 72 hours without losing any of my settings. That’s really convenient and saves water too. This is a very smart and practical device, especially if you don’t have an in-ground irrigation system like me. I no longer dread going outside in the middle of the night to shut off the water or move the sprinkler around. It’s made my routine so much easier. You receive a whole kit in the package with user manual, another filter, quick start guide. It requires 2 X AA batteries that the manufacturer recommends removing when storing the timer. Also, this timer should not be used if there is a chance for the temperatures to drop below 3 degrees Celsius. I’ve already recommended it to several friends because it’s amazing quality and just makes life a lot more convenient.

This pack comes with the following: - 2 Zone Water Timer with Brass Inlets and Outlets with filter washer pre-installed on female fitting. - 1 spare filter washer - 1 roll teflon tape - Quick start guide - User Manual Note that the box art doesn't match to the actual product inside the box. This unit requires 2 x AA batteries to operate (not included). In addition to timer modes, a manual mode is also available should it be needed. You can select which zone you want to turn on and set a duration for how long you want it open for. This can only be used on one zone at a time. There's also an option of only using one zone and disabling the 2nd zone. There's also a rain delay mode. Build wise, although the fittings may be made of brass, they're still attached to plastic components so those are still your weak points. There's no brass frame that the fittings are attached to. On the male ends, the brass fittings fit over plastic openings, and on the female end, the center piece where the washer sits, underneath that is all plastic. I've had enough one way valves which use this kind of design break off right at the plastic piece where the washer sits and once that's broken, the valve is useless. I fear the same can happen here. For that reason, I would normally recommend affixing this to something to prevent it from moving around, along with the hose ends, but this unit has no mounting holes to do that. So, in that case, I'd recommend making sure that it's sitting flat on the ground and that you secure the hose ends to make sure they don't apply too much pressure to the brass fixtures to cause them to snap off. The rear of the unit houses the battery compartment, and the door has a double gasket seal to prevent water from getting in, so this should allow for you to lay it on the ground. Perhaps put some large stones underneath them to allow for drainage should it rain a lot. The door is a bit difficult to open, but that also means it seals very well. When turning on and off the valves, you can tell it's working as there is a very loud click when engaging or disengaging a zone. The manual also recommends using manual mode to test both zones before using it. The unit maintains a charge so that your settings aren't lost when swapping out batteries. Attached are pictures of the quick start guide so you can see how to setup the timer.
