Nicknamed alligator clips.
They have that nickname in my area for a reason. They don't let go easily once they bite on. If you twist an pull with a pair of players, you'll gouge the spindle it's on. Better off snipping it off an replacing it with another one. But, if you don't buy them in a pack like this one, you probably pay as much for 2 or 3, at a hardware or fasteners store, as you will for this whole set. I know, because I did to retain my dryer motor drive wheels. Buy them, set them aside, use as needed.

This was a nice assortment of fasteners. They worked to repair the framework on an electric automotive seat.

They worked great on plastic as a retainer clip on a bolt the absolute stunk they barely have enough hold and would fall off easily
