Excellent purchase! Came in handy during those hot days at Disney World.

It's a novel concept, but it's severely underpowered. Also, the design would benefit from putting the cooling pad inside so the air being sucked is cooled. The way it is now, the air sort of goes around it and the cooling effect isn't very effective. Would not recommend

I bought 4 of these fans and after charging them all to full, 3 of them did not work! 2 of them, turning on the fan just results in a noise and the fan itself tries to spin a little but never gets moving. 1 of them works fine on low and medium fan speeds but on high the fan stops moving and the same noise the other two make happens. 1 of the 4 does work fine but not confident in how long it will last after 3 arrived with issues. The one that does work is nice, the fan at high speed is decent although agree with other reviews that I wish the fan portion was bigger and moved more air. The ice cooling pad is the nicest feature of this fan though and it feels really nice to put it against your skin especially on hot outdoor days. I thought it might not work as well when actually outside in the heat but it worked great even in the 90 degree summer heat in Florida! Its too bad only 1 of the 4 actually works.

Fan works nice. But the cold part mainly works if you put it on you. Doesn't feel like cold air unless you are already in cold air

The air output was enough to create a cooling breeze that effectively targeted the head and neck area. But the real star of the show was the built-in cooling disc nestled in the fan's center. Strategically placed against pulse points, this disc delivered a noticeable drop in temperature. Here's where things get interesting. My family, myself included, initially fell for the marketing pitch – cool air blowing directly from the fan. After all, that seemed like the logical function of a cooling plate, right? Wrong. As my attached video demonstrates, that's not quite how it works. The cooling process involves a trade-off. While the disc chills, it also generates heat that needs to be dissipated. This excess heat gets mixed with the air blown by the fan, negating any cooling effect from the plate itself. Now, this isn't a deal-breaker, as long as you understand the science behind it. If you were expecting a mini air conditioner blasting cool air, you'll be disappointed. The key lies in using the cooling plate strategically. As I mentioned before, touch the disc to your pulse points (wrists, temples, neck) to experience its cooling effect. Then, direct the fan's airflow over those cooled pulse points for a more amplified cooling sensation. Trust me, this targeted approach is far more effective than a basic fan alone. While it won't turn a sweltering day into a crisp autumn morning, it definitely provides a noticeable improvement in personal comfort, especially during those sticky outdoor moments. The QHQ Ice Cooling Handheld Fan earns a solid 4-star rating. Its portability, decent air output, and the ingenious (albeit not air-conditioning) cooling disc make it a valuable weapon in the fight against SoCal heat. Just remember, it's not a mini air conditioner, but a targeted cooling tool. Used strategically, this little fan can be a refreshing companion on hot days, keeping you cool and comfortable, one pulse point at a time.

I'll be honest—I had low expectations for this. Because of a health condition I live with frequent, irritating hot flashes. I've been through a lot of mini fans. I like the one I currently have clipped to my bed for sleeping but it's not as easy to carry around, so I figured I'd test this one out. For as ridiculously small as it is, this thing does work. It's got three speeds and two modes: click the button three times and you'll see a blue light and feel it going from low to medium to high. Hold down the button and you'll get a white light and it will go into "refrigerator" mode. Essentially, the metal center of the fan starts getting cold. You can see the condensation in the photo. Does this actually make the blowing air any colder? I can't tell. I think it might, but maybe I'm imagining it? It's not a huge difference. But if you want to apply something like a melting ice cube to your wrists, you can do that with this thing. Pros: 1. It works! 2. It's easy to carry around and discreet for pulling out in public places. 3. On low and medium, the sound is pretty quiet. 4. Convenient and quick USB charging. Cons: 1. High mode is fairly loud, especially if you hold it as close to your face as you need to for relief. 2. While it has a tiny little kickstand that does hold it upright on a surface, there's no way to swivel the head. So if you want the air on your face and to have your hands free, you'll need to find the exact right height object to balance it on. 3. Battery life is decent, not amazing. 4. This isn't a real con, just an anticipated one—I'm not sure this thing is going to last that long. Whenever it breaks I'll come back and update my rating and review. EDIT: this tiny thing saved my life on a long bus ride with broken AC. The whole bus was sweltering for our two hour trip to the airport. I kept this thing on cooling mode and held it to my wrists and temples the entire time. It lasted those whole two hours at full blast, really made the difference. UPDATE: more than a year later this is still my go-to fan after others have broken.
