If you're curious about the books that didn’t make it into the standard Bible, this is a solid pickup. It’s packed with APOCRYPHAL [books once considered scripture by some but left out of the final Bible] and PSEUDEPIGRAPHAL [writings falsely attributed to biblical figures] texts; a lot of material you’ve probably heard about but never actually read. The layout is clean, the print is readable, and it doesn’t feel overly academic or preachy. Just straight access to the texts.What’s especially intriguing is that some of these books were actually included in earlier versions of the Bible. They’re part of what’s known as the DEUTEROCANONICAL or contested books, later removed over time. Seeing what was once considered scripture, and exploring why it may have been cut, adds a whole new layer to understanding canon history and how the Bible we know today came together.It’s a big book, but that’s expected with how much it covers. This is a perfect addition to my theology library. Definitely worth having if you’re into biblical history, theology, or just want to see what didn’t make the final cut.

Very informative and I’m ready to buy other books taken out of the Bible

A good digital read

I purchased this book as a gift to myself for Christmas. It is much larger than I expected it to be, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. I’ve only just begun to read it, but I find it a great addition to my regular biblical reading. The type is easy to read, and the table of contents makes it easy to locate specific chapter titles. A very comprehensive volume, I would highly recommend this publication.

Extremely large book with very small print.

It's great, but know that the book it BIG. 11.75" x 8.25"! Great info, but you're not taking this in the car, a train, or plane.
