I’m not quite sure what you mean by, “Jamming.” Do you mean the lever gets stuck when you pull it back for a spray? Or does it not spritz at all? I tested both of mine with water before using any starch (or any commercial product) for quilting. One makes a bit more of a clicking noise when squeezed; but they both seem to function the same. You do have to squeeze the trigger fully back. I have the most success when I draw it back with 2 fingers and a consistent, purposeful motion. Occasionally, when I pull the trigger back it clicks but does not express any mist. Always, when I trigger immediately after a ‘miss fire’ it will give me a full spray. I’ve learned to be sure that I am following through with that stroke. Also, I do release the trigger if I don’t need a full spritz. If your issue is that the spray is becoming globby and not mist-like, then I would guess that things have gotten sticky inside. In that case the valve is not able to push enough air to function correctly. On other sprayers I’ve had that issue if the liquid product has a lot of additives (too much starch/water ratio, food coloring undissolved, tap water with a lot of minerals). If this may be the case, perhaps a vinegar/water solution run through it will clean it out (pharmaceutical alcohol works too). I do this with mine after every 3rd refill…just because I want as fine a mist as I can get for setting quilt piecing seams. I also use my misters for essential oil blends (think a few drops of lavender and lots of water, not carrier oils). I use this both as linen spray or quick room refresher. If I’m ironing large pieces of fabric, I fall back on my 10-ounce sprayer that shoots a longer, wider pattern and makes life easier for the big project. I hope that I have addressed your question.
