We got these for my husband, who hikes a lot and carries his phone in his pocket. His previous phone actually was ruined because it got so much dirt in the charging port, it wouldn't charge. So he got a new phone, and we got these dummy plugs. They work great, fit tightly, and keep the dirt out. Great price too, and there were so many we don't worry if one gets lost here or there.

When I do chainsaw, wood chipping work, etc. with my phone in pocket, I invariably get sawdust and woodchips in the USB-C port of my cell phone. When I plug in the cable,, it packs the wood chips/dust down in the bottom of the port and prevents the cable from connecting properly and is a real PITA to get out once it's packed in there. These prevent dust/chips/dirt, etc. from clogging up your port. I though, initially, that buying a pack of 50 was overkill, but these things are tiny, easy to misplace when you take them out to plug in a cord, so having 50 at your disposal isn't really excessive, especially given how inexpensive they are in quantity.

I took away a star because maybe 10% of these were cut poorly and are unusable, but aside from that relatively small issue these are great. After experiencing something getting in the USB port of my phone and having to have iFixIt repair it, I decided to get these plugs to hopefully avoid a repeat incident.
