I own several air rifles. Recently purchased a Benjamin Marauder in .22 caliber. Most importantly to clean the barrel the ideal kit is called a patchworm- comprising of a plastic line with a catch - a round plastic sleeve sized for the particular caliber from .177 -.22 to .25. The new marauder only allows cleaning from the breech to the muzzle or vise verse- a one piece cleaning rod is out of the question. So, with this plastic kit. You puncture the patch and slide it down- where it meets the plastic sleeve. Using Ballistol ( top rated barrel cleaner for fouling as it has no affect on the rubber seals & prong in the breech area. The long and short of it is this. This is the exact size as the Cotten patches that come with the patchworm kit. Any larger and you will not be able to pull the plastic sleeve- that pulls the patch- thru the barrel. Another factor is the construction- you try any other patch other than this cotton weave. They will come apart. Whether it’s a Marauder Barrel or a Umarex Gauntlet 2. You also need the thin ness of the patch- in other words if u buy them not knowing what they are made for. The obvious conclusion is - what?!! I paid for a package that fits in the palm of my hand. This must be a joke or a literal rip off. In fact it’s the exact opposite. Buy a patchworm field airgun cleaning kit and try and buy the cleaning patches. The cost is 2- even 3 times the price of these. Whether square or round. These are exactly the size and quality you need to clean an air rifle, particularly a pcp one . A springer is different. You can buy a Dewey rod- a slightly larger patch and save money in bulk but if you need a special purpose patch. These are worth the Pennie’s per patch.
