SONY 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 FE OSS Interchangeable Standard Zoom Lens (Renewed)

Best Stock Lens around, My original with the Camera Lasted a few years until it had an Accident at a Shoot. Would definitely recommend to have one of these as a Backup, or for someone starting out with their camera.

Initially I thought the Sony 28-70mm lens I purchased from an Amazon reseller was an off-brand with Sony labeling on it. You know, possibly some cheap knock off. It appeared lighter than my original lens of the same type. However, now that I have put them side by side, I can confirm it is an actual OEM Sony Lens. I purchased this lens for my back-up Sony A7ii camera, which I use when I am unsure where I am going to be hanging out. If it gets lost or stolen, I won't cry. I have older Minolta lens for that camera, but they require a motorized adapter, which quickly drains the small battery that the Sony a7ii can handle. Plus the Minolta lenses cannot handle all of the focusing modes of a Sony lens. I took the lens and the Sony a7ii for a run today at our state botanical garden. These photos are the results and it performs just as well as my original 28-70mm lens. I've seen this lens on other websites at over $300 and couldn't justify the expense, since I had one copy of the lens already. But at less than $250, I snapped it up. It work perfectly well, and I am happy with it.

Could be sharper, but it's a kit lens; all that matters is the flexible focal range and entry price-point. Does what it's supposed to do well.

I am a wedding photographer and this gives me great versatility. The images aren’t as sharp as my prime lens but I do appreciate the soon feature verses a prime lens. I definitely appreciate the value compared to a G master lens and it has held up well through 2 international trips!

Not sure what I was expecting with a refurbished lens, but it appeared to be as good as new upon delivery. Early photographic and video testing show the lens performs very well. Even a review of enlarged images taken in shade and sunny conditions were incredibly clean and sharp, with colors as experienced with the naked eye. Autofocus and metering functions paired very well with the camera on this E Mount. I'm glad I didn't have to pay full retail for a lens of this quality.

My go-to lens for videography. Small enough to balance well on a gimbal even at multiple zoom lengths.

Outside of the packaging, this lens is pristine adn in brand new condition, I suspect its from a kit (a7+28-70) thats been split up for sale. Excellent value for me as I bought my camera body only, and a few years after buying it want to get the kit lens to lighten my carry weight from 5 lenses to 2. The lens is silent, the focus is fast, and the aperture is pretty standard for these focal ranges. Materials could be better, but honestly youre just paying for the glass here, sony must have made this for pennies on the dollar. for 200$ its worth picking up, but dont expect a metal build.
