Good to cut the tape off boxes. I have been using it for about a month now and it’s still working perfectly. You have to actively push the knob to make the blade come out so it retracts if you stop, which makes it safer against accidents than other cutters. I can quickly put it in my pocket without worrying about cutting myself. This is the only type of box cutter allowed in the school kitchen for safety reasons.

Difficult to use. You have to keep constant pressure on the button to extend the blade, which makes it awkward to use. A locking mechanism would be better. I wouldn’t recommend it.

for someone with the ability to somehow manage to burn or cut themselves without even trying, even when being careful, these are awesome for opening up packages and breaking boxes down for recycling. now i don't have to go slow when i do that since i am not scared that these will cut me like the metal ones will in a heartbeat even if it barely touches me. plus these are safer to use around cats & dog since i sometimes use to forget to close the metal ones up. Glad one of these in pink happen to be in the scissors set i bought a few months ago, i wouldn't of paid them no mind otherwise. these are also perfect for those of us with smaller hands, my hands/fingers don't cramp up using these.i lost my pink one last week and i thought it was the end of the world when i did so lol, i came and bought 2 of these to make sure i always have one if happens again... my pink one was still doing a great job and i never changed the blade before it went MIA on me so these last for a long time, unlike the metal ones that go dull on you quickly.
