Double jointed oval link snaffle bit is a must have!
So I went on the search for a mild double jointed snaffle without loose rings ( I DO NOT like their tendancy to pinch and rub) and a smooth oval center (to minimize the discomfort on the tounge) and with a price that I could afford as a try it and see bit for a mare that had decided she wasn't particularly fond of any of my bits. Even the uber expensive ones. After a lengthy search with many disapointments I found this bit and decided to try it. First thing I noticed is it is smooth (was slightly worried it might have burs or rough places because of the very reasonable price and never ordering a bit I hadn't personally handled first). Lovely quality overall. A nice weight to it, not too heavy or too light. I just loved how it felt in my hands. Nice curved angle to it to fit my horses small and delicate mouth. It was everything I was looking for. The true test of a bit. First ride. This green mare can be rather opinionated and works very hard to tell me what she is thinking. She LOVED this bit (or at least tolerated this one best). She tries so hard to please and can get very frustrated if she doesn't understand what you are asking of her. This double jointed snaffle helps me give her more clarity in my aids and has really cut down her frustration levels. The curves and thickness are just about perfect for a comfortable fit. Overall we both love this bit and I really cannot say enough good things about it. I have since tried it on a couple others and so far its a favorite for all. Way to go JP Korsteel for a well made double jointed snaffle bit for reasonable cost! I wanted a very mild bit. The mildest I could find to be honest. I don't like using anything harsh. (Granted though ANY bit can be horrendous in the wrong hands). This bit gives me enough control when I need it (and when riding young colts let's face it sometimes you NEED it) but if your horse is real hardmouthed or likes to bolt through the bit this might not be the best way to go. Safety first. Other than that I love this bit for greenies to the been there done that crowd.

Don't Ever Waste Money On Another Bit
this is the king of bits. It is the only type of but I will ever use on my horses again! I've tried everything! Even bought a Parelli Confidence Snaffle (which is very similar, to be fair, but thicker and heavy in my left brain introvert's mouth. Easy to ignore) and this is the only bit he hasn't fussed with. I started a colt on it and horses just carry it themselves because it doesn't punish their mouths! Awesome bit. And, just my luck, my uncle found a copper one lying in the road. Same bit! Just copper. So now I have two and I'm a happy camper! And so are my babies. Definitely recommend!

Heavy duty and well made
I was surprised by it's weight and ring size when I first received it but I wanted to give it a chance and see how my horse liked it. I am training a younger one and this was the first bit for him to be ridden in. He responded well, only chewed on it a little at the beginning, seemed to be comfortable and it fit him really well. After comparing the weight of this one to others, I realized there wasn't too much of a difference, although I still think the rings are a tad too large for my liking. Overall, my horse and I are extremely happy with this bit. Definitely a keeper!

Super gentle bit for easy horses and great price!
Love this bit it is the third one I have bought for my horses. Much more gentle than thinner harsher bits and my horses still respond very well to it.

A mild, humane bit most horses will accept.
This is the third time I have bought this bit. It works great on many different horses. It is wonderful for horses with low palates, because the double joints bend around the tongue and don't jam the snaffle joint into the roof of the mouth. Most horses stop resisting and accept contact with this bit, because they are so comfortable. It is non-rust stainless steel. There are no pinchy hinges. The only bit that I have found that is as good or perhaps is a little better is the Herm Sprenger equivalent - but they are about $150.

Well Made and Picky Gelding Approved
This bit is nicely made and has a large, smooth lozenge that my gelding seems to appreciate.

Nice size but it squeaks
Double-jointed lozenge eggbutt snaffles are hard to find and Korsteels are pretty and functional. The only downside is the squeaking. I've brought two and on both, the joint in the ring squeaks whenever my horse chews or moves her jaw. However, it doesn't affect the bits function but it can be a bit annoying.

Nice bit
I do like the Korsteel, Eggbutt bits. This is fairly inexpensive in comparison to others, just keep and eye on the bit though as a few scratches are starting to appear on this one, hopefully that will be it but I do worry my horse will score it and damage it long term.
