SAMOTECH WIFI Smart DIMMER UK LED Module No neutral wire required, compatible with Alexa, Google, Tuya, Smart Life

I installed the SAMOTECH WiFi Smart Dimmer in my UK home and it’s been great. The quality feels solid, and it works reliably with my living room lights. I love that it doesn’t need a neutral wire, which made installation super easy in UK wiring setups. Setup with the app was straightforward, and the dimming is smooth with no flicker. Overall, it’s a high-quality smart dimmer that’s perfect for UK homes.

I was very excited when I saw this product because I didn’t know such a thing existed. My partner likes to be able to manually control the lights but I like to use Alexa or the Google Home app. This product solved our problems. At first I was disappointed, because when we turned off the light completely, the bulb would remain dimly on. We couldn’t figure out why this was happening but then we discovered what an LED Bypass was. We bought one and the dimmer switch then worked perfectly, switching completely off with no glowing when we turned it off. The dimmer switch dims smoothly, there isn’t any flashing. Alexa voice control works well, and the product is compatible with Google Home and Alexa. Unfortunately I couldn’t integrate with the Siri Shortcuts app which is disappointing, but the product is still worth it. We were able to retrofit the dimmer component with our nicer looking faceplate from our old dumb dimmer switch. For the price, it seems a shame that the faceplate included is cheap looking and white plastic, but it’s easy enough to retrofit so it’s fine. Overall, this is a niche product but it works perfectly (with an LED Bypass) and it’s perfect for our home. I doubt many people would be willing to fork out the hefty amount but for those of us who want it it’s a dream-come-true product. I highly recommend if a standard smart bulb wouldn’t be good enough for you.

I found this dimmer easy to wire up and it worked well with the associated app to enable control from my iPhone. Alexa voice control was also straight forward to set up. Dimmer control using the knob is smooth and progressive. I’ve experienced no bulb flickering and I control 4 bulbs from the dimmer so the resistance is high enough not to need an anti flicker dimmer bypass. The construction of the dimmer face plate seems a bit flimsy and might be a weak point as time goes on so one star is docked for this reason. A good purchase!

Assuming you are reasonably competent with electronics, this is easy to fit and works well. I am using it with a dimmable led bulb and have no ficker or ghost lighting.

Worked fine for a while, then operaion became irratic - often suddenly dimming light. Now doesnt work at all (but app shows connected and can change power)

Does what it is supposed to, love the option to connect to Amazon making it a smart light. good quality item, would not hesitate to buy this product again. Connected to Wi-Fi straight away, easy to fit.

Extremely poor Build quality. Doesn’t sit flush to the wall due to how flimsy the cover is. Sent back.

Bought this product recently, but it doesnt seem possible to switch the light on and off at the switch. The app works fine and I can rotate the switch to adjust the dimming, but cannot switch the light off at the switch by pressing the button or any other way. The user manual only provides advice on how to set up the apps, not how to switch on and off at the switch!! Seems strange
