XX-Large High Sided Cat Litter Box, Scatter Shield, Black

I don't usually review a product three purchases in, but that says a lot about how I feel about this litter box. This is my third one. I've been buying this particular box for several years now, and I honestly don't see myself switching to anything else. The biggest reason is simple: my cat is a big boy. He's not just a little chunky, he's a genuinely large, long cat with long legs and a long body. Smaller litter boxes simply weren't comfortable for him. He would sometimes miss the box, and I eventually realized that part of the problem was that he just didn't have enough room to position himself properly. Since switching to this XX-Large high-sided box, that problem has essentially disappeared. He has the room he needs to get completely inside the box and comfortably do his business, and the high sides are an added bonus for keeping litter where it belongs. I've also learned over the years that plastic litter boxes eventually retain odors, no matter how well you clean them. That's not really a criticism of this particular box, it's just something I've found with plastic litter boxes in general. After a couple of years, I prefer to toss the old one and start fresh rather than try to fight an odor that has worked its way into the plastic. And when it's time to replace it? I buy this exact same box again. For anyone with a larger cat, I really think the size is worth paying attention to. Your cat needs enough room to turn around, position himself comfortably, and actually use the box without feeling cramped. This one gives my cat that space. At this point, I don't experiment with other litter boxes anymore. I've found the one that works for us, and I'm sticking with it. My big boy is comfortable, the litter stays more contained, and I no longer have the “why did he miss the box?” problem I used to have. Three purchases over several years and I keep coming back to the same one. That pretty much tells the story.

We have an 18-year-old, high-maintenance calico who, in her golden years, has become—let’s say—“litter-box aiming challenged.” For a while, her trot to the litter box had become a supervised event. No more hovering nearby like nervous stage managers making sure everything goes according to plan. The tall scatter shield has been especially helpful. Even with her less-than-precise technique, everything stays contained inside the box where it belongs. Cleanup is easier, the surrounding area stays clean, and our stress level has dropped significantly. It’s also sturdy, easy to clean, and perfect for older cats who need a little extra room to maneuver comfortably. If you have: a senior cat a large cat multiple cats or a cat with… interpretive bathroom habits …this box is absolutely worth it. We went from monitoring every trip to the litter box to actually trusting the process again—which, in a multi-cat or senior-cat household, is nothing short of a miracle. 🐾

We have never tried a litter box like this before. It's big. Not for use in tight spaces. But, if you have multiple cats, or a really big cat or two, this box is great! The high sides are great. One of our boy kitties, despite being neutered, still sprays sometimes when he goes potty. This box solved that problem. He's also the big kitty, close to 17 pounds (big cat, not fat) and he can just go in, do his thing, turn around easily, and come out EASILY! Odor control is a non-issue for us regardless of what kind of box we use, because we scoop minimum of twice daily. This litter box isn't nearly as heavy as I thought it might be, and seems to be quite durable. Another one of our cats likes to dig to China when he is in there, and used to toss litter all over the floor. This box has greatly diminished his messiness. We plan on buying at least one more, maybe two. We used to use hooded boxes-----for our benefit, not theirs. We've really changed out approach to litter boxes. It needs to be for their benefit, not ours. They will use what they like, and be less likely to go elsewhere (in unwanted places). Of course, this excludes medical and stress-induced behavior issues, regarding littler box use. I'm just talking about every day litter box use. Mine like this big box. We still have some smaller hooded ones, they have been largely ignored since we got this big one. The cats have spoken!

Great buy! I recently adopted a new kitten & I already have a 2 year old cat. She had outgrown the standard size anyway before getting the kitten. This thing is like 3 litter boxes in one! Holds a full box of litter, high sides keep litter tracking to a minimum. They can both fit comfortably & turn around & there’s still extra room. A steal for multi cat households!

The size is great for what I need for my elderly large cat. Finally, a litter box with that doesn't have sides that bow inward so the bottom ends up being less wide than the top. The bottom is not completely flat. It's elevated slightly and drops off all around the side edges making it harder to scoop in that dip. I do like that it has a very slick bottom that helps with scooping by not sticking to the bottom. Haven't had to take it outside and jet blast it clean yet so I can't comment on how easy or not it will be to clean.

This cat box was just the ticket for a cat I ended up adopting that was abandoned in my driveway last year. The cat is the biggest female cat I have ever had in all my years of having cats as pets. I currently have three others including two males that this kitty drwarfs. When I took her to the vet to have checked out and get her shots, she weighed in at nearly 20 lbs. She is long, tall and packs some lbs. I had her in a separate room when I first moved her inside with her own cat box and feeding station. That has just remained in place as she likes to stay in this room and doesn't seem to want to mix too much with the other cats. Well, the cat box for her was pretty tight. She was hunched up in it each time she needed to relieve herself and eventually she ended up peeing all over her tail and down her backside because she couldn't lift her tail. I noticed it when she started to get a bit ripe smelling. So after determining she wasn't ill but soiled from trying to fit in her 24:x16" cat box (not small) I searched and finally found this box for a good price. It really is the right size for her. She walked into it and did her business tail held high with plenty of room. Then without having to scrunch herself up like a humpback, she turned and carefully buried her lastest deposit. Mimi, that's her name really likes to scratch and bury her poos and pees like a miner. This box gives her more than adequate room. I am going to measure and see if there is room to replace my other cats box with one like this. It is really well priced and seems to be well made. The shield is nice and easily removed. If you have multiple cats or just a big kitty like my Mimi, then this is the ticket!

I have 4 big cats ranging from 15 to 20lbs this is the best Litter box I have ever purchased the high sides on it stops any urine from going over the edge which was causing a terrible stink. There’s plenty of room for them to get in and turn around and do their thing This litter box has solved all the problems.

Bigger than I had expected but it's perfect for my 20lb kitties. Sturdy & a great value.

Ik raad deze kattenbak iedereen aan! Is misschien wel prijzig, maar wel waard voor je geld. Hij is ruim voor meer dan twee katten. Ze kunnen goed in bewegen, graven. De kattenbakvulling blijft goed binnen. Zo hou je het schoon op de vloer. Ze zijn allebei tevreden. Daarna heb ik er nog één bij besteld. Wie weet er nog één, want twee katten is twee kattenbakken + 1 kattenbak erbij. Ik heb er geen spijt van. Het item is ook goed geleverd. Niet beschadigd.

Very good for big cats, lots of room to move around in. Good quality no issues with the unit.

J'avais une litière identique mais plus petite, mais mon chat se débrouillait souvent pour laisser dépasser ses fefesses avant de pousser, résultat, le caquito en dehors de la caisse. Avec ce format XXL plus de problème, il se met bien au milieu et il a tout l'espace dont il a besoin. Facile à nettoyer grâce à sa matiere plastique et à transporter vu que les paroies se clipsent à l'envers dedans s'il faut la transporter ou la ranger. Tres satisfait!

Ottima soluzione per i gatti grandi. Il gattone ci sta comodamente e ha lo spazio necessario per muoversi senza fuoriuscite sgradevoli. La sabbia poi non esce ed è tutto facilmente pulibile.

This litter box is a god send. My cat, Wyatt, is a true scratch the litter every where kind of guy. I did not know at times where my floor began and the litter box ended. This box is a nice large size and has high sides to keep everything where it should be. It is worth the price!
