Watkins Root Beer Concentrate, 2 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)

This smells so amazing! All of the extracts I have gotten have been great flavor. Exactly what I was looking for each time. Coffee, caramel, now the rootbeer. I use them for flavoring drinks. Just the tiniest bit gives big flavor!

Good, but it's don't taste like root beer

I like the product enough to use it in very small quantities (1/4 teaspoon) in combination with other root beer flavorings to make root beer. I make a tea base using sarsaparilla and sassafras roots. I add vanilla and sugar and just a small amount of this extract just to round out the root beer flavor. I use it in conjunction with other root beer flavoring products found on Amazon. It is a nice addition to enhance the root beer flavor in the recipe, but I would not use it as the primary root beer flavoring due to the artificial maple syrup flavor profile and smell.

I was hesitant to buy this root beer extract for making homemade root beer. I had always purchased McCormick Root Beer extract, however, since I can no longer find it, this seemed to be a good replacement. The color is not as deep as with the McCormick, however, the taste was good. It does smell like root beer. The price was reasonable compared to other manufacturers. The one drawback is that I had to use two bottles to achieve the same level of taste. The end result was that the 5-gallons of home made root beer was quickly consumed by the guests at our 4th of July party.

I used this to make root beer flavored Vodka. It actually had better flavor than the teeny bottles of extract

Watkins products are older than I am but their quality is still there. When you need something that is difficult to find try Watkins.
