I bought this desk now that we are working from home due to covid-19. I have a small apartment and didn't want a "real" desk that would be bulky and I couldn't put away when I return to the office. I also didn't want something that would be an eyesore. This looks really nice and fits well with my decor. This is the perfect size to fit my laptop, monitor and enough space for a notebook and a few other items. It is real wood and seems well made. I also like that it came already assembled so all I had to do was pop the legs up and it was ready. My only feedback is that I would like if there was a mechanism to lock the legs in to place more tightly. There are little rubbers that keep it from skidding around on my hardwood floors but it still feels a little wobbly. It's not bad though. I am conisdering buying a second one to make a larger table that I could use for dining with frineds as well

This is a nice table, but I don’t think it’s worth almost $200–I’d have rather paid half that now that I feel the wobbliness. The hairpin legs are as wobbly as the card table I was using before I got this. It has a give of about 1/2” from side to side and 1/4” front to back. It arrived on time and with no damage, so that’s a plus. And I painted it to match other furniture in the room. It LOOKS much nicer than the card table. And I can take it down just as quickly, which was what I was wanting, in case I need to make room for guests.

I was looking to replace a table in my bedroom and was intrigued by the price point and design of this desk. The wood and legs looked so stylish in the product photographs, and I am happy to report it looks even better than I expected it to look in my room from the pictures. Besides just being a good size to accommodate many of my projects and me, the wood is finished and a little thicker than some of the other desks I viewed. My favorite feature are the legs because they are so sleek! I like to play with light, and if around the legs is fairly dim, the table has the illusion that it's floating! I did move and install it by myself, but it'd be much easier to get out of the box with two people. The legs do fold up nicely should I ever want to store it and make space, though I don't plan to do that often. I would not recommend it for more rugged applications such as tailgating unless you plan to cover it in blankets while traveling, as the wood maybe would scratch. It's definitely sturdy enough for moving around and setting up in different parts of my house regularly. This is also the kind of furniture that would look really impressive if I ever saw it in an Airbnb. Can't really say why! Kind of feels like California with the light wood finish. If I ever rent my place as an Airbnb, this thing is going in the entryway with all of the snacks! For around $100, I'm amazed by the premium look and feel of this desk. Just remember to keep it that way, do as the packaging says and "for goodness sake, use a coaster!" This is the second piece I've bought from Sleekform, my first being a kneeling chair "the Austin". All and all, my experience with their products as been A+. They care a lot about what they make and will make things right if you're not satisfied. That being said, I think you will be -- Go for it!

Update one year later: As noted below, customer service was super and sent us a replacement desk right away. We kept that desk in its original packaging and stored it for a time (kids could return to school post-pandemic, so less desks were needed at home). Unfortunately, when I took the replacement desk out of the box recently, it had the identical split which has - in a few days of light use - grown to the full side of the desk. Not a good product. Customer service has not responded this time. HELP! Update 3 months later: the desktop cracked (see picture) and many of the screws spontaneously fell out. Hoping customer service can help!! Update on the update: I emailed Customer Service directly, and they were great about promptly sending a replacement desk. I fear, however, that this will have the same outcome given the design flaw (tiny screws meant to hold comparatively large brackets and legs...) Original post: LOVE this desk! It came carefully packaged (so the desk was in perfect condition). There was no assembly at all. The wood top is gorgeous, and the black metal legs add a cool touch. Highly recommend!!

I was on the hunt for an office desk that not only looked great but was foldable for convenient storage as well, so I decided to purchase the Sleekform 'The Portland'. Here's my quick review: PROS: 1. Looks (and smells) great because it's real wood with a really nice finish 2. It's foldable, so it's super convenient to stow away when not in use 3. You're supporting a small business (the company is made-up of only three people) CONS: 1. The wood is relatively thin, so I can understand why other buyers' desks have cracked or break (mine has yet to do so however) 2. Perhaps the biggest flaw is that it's not very sturdy. I have a 27" iMac and the table wobbles because the legs are fairly thin, perhaps not made from the best material and also not very secure at the bottom of the desk. Just the act of typing or moving my mouse causes the desk to shake from side to side, so unfortunately it's not a long term solution for me. I will say that if you find a corner in your apartment or home to place this desk in, it will most likely brace the desk to mitigate this shake.

I needed a folding desk or table for my home office, that I would be able to put away easily and store easily in a small apt. when I was done with it. Honestly, this one cost almost twice what some of the others I was looking at were listed for, and I was hesitant to spend that much. But I'm really glad that I decided to go with this one. As promised, it's really light, so it's easy for me to move around. And the set-up is super easy, as is the take-down. The other factor that made a difference to me in picking it was that its top really is solid wood, not veneer. It looks really great, and it's exactly the size I wanted. (Bottom line: the real wood, the lightness, and how simple it looked to set up, were all factors in my choosing this over other folding desks I was looking at, despite the higher price.)

It's a good product, and arrived in good shape since it was well packaged. This is a really good minimalist option compared to something from an office supply store made from particleboard. Pros: Easy setup since it is a folding design and no assembly. Nice solidly built birch wood desktop with good joints and has a nice enough finish; way better than plastic veneer on particle board. No drawers underneath make it comfortable for a tall person to sit at. Design blends well with different styles.
