IF YOURE INDECISIVE
FIRST YOU SHOULD KNOW: I got these for casual gaming on my ROG Ally and I love them. LATENCY: with gaming mode is hardly noticeable, I mean I can't even tell. It's like Ray tracing. If I go looking for it I'll find the latency, if I'm just casually gaming I don't notice it. I DO NOT RECCOMMEND these if you intend to play competitively, obviously you want all wired for competition. QUALITY: Far as I can tell, quality is awesome, bass is solid. I've always noticed Asus ROG puts some good sound quality in their devices (I've owned the zephyrus g14 before, those speakers and the Ally speakers are noticeably better than competitions) BATTERY LIFE: as I've stated I'm casually gaming. Longest session I had was a bit over an hour and the battery life went from 80% to 60% ish HANDLING: Using those touch sensors is no big deal. My ONLY COMPLAINT is the voice that says what mode you're in? It sounds like they recorded it in a kitchen with an iphone mic. ALSO CHANGING EARBUD SIZES IS AN ABSOLUTE PAIN BUT they are firm when they're finally on. ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLING: Mine also came with a defect, ANC doesn't work on the left earbud, just makes a weird hissing noise. Nothing I've thought of to try has fixed the issue, I'm returning these for another. I'll update for ANC when I get the new set. UPDATE: The ANC works well, it's not Bose quality but it helps eliminate distracting noise, and I'm not sure why there's low and high ANC? I'm only going to use high ANC, ambient, or off, so switching from one to another I'll encounter "Low noise cancelling" roll my eyes and switch again. The ambient mode is nice too for when I go to the store wanting to listen to punk rock or play games on break at work. I'll add another star since the new set works as intended. SO: I love it! At most I can get a few hours of solid gaming with no wires attached and I love that. The only other defect I find is when I played Halo MCC. Best way I can describe it is it goes from being normal to big echo-y room and crap quality. Doesn't happen everytime but sometimes. Hopefully the new ones coming in won't be as defected. UPDATE: The speed nova does NOT have a slot to hold the 2.4ghz dongle like the delta S does, personally a deal breaker for me, I'd lose that thing in a week

Great gaming headphones for the Asus Ally X with dedicated USB-C Wireless
These work great for the purpose that I've ordered them for. I use them with my ASUS ROG Ally X since bluetooth is normally a little unreliable and constantly disconnects and seems to have auto quality issues as well. These having a dedicated 2.4Ghz dongle for the headphones works perfectly. They quickly connect and sound great when playing games. The lighting isn't obnoxious and can easily be disabled via the software within Windows. It would be nice to have a place to put the dongle when not in use in the case; However, this isn't a huge issue since it still fits nicely into the case with it attached to the Ally. They're fairly comfortable wearing, comparable to the Google Buds Pro 2 that I use for my phone. I haven't had any battery issues while playing games, they seem to hold their charge well and can be used one headphone at a time if you don't want to both in at the same time so you can still pay attention to what's going on around you. Not sure if they're worth the full price; However, on sale or renewed they are a great value, and I would recommend.

Great for gaming, but leave them at home
Bought this primarily to replace my overear headphones for PC gaming, as that was getting uncomfortable on my head and denting my hair. Having the 2.4 GHz dongle is very important, since Bluetooth headphones on Windows causes all sorts of problems with sound quality. Sound quality & latency here is great, not as immersive as my over ears, but perfectly suitable for helping me hear directional sounds in game, and music sounds good without even needing to adjust the EQ. Great battery life, lasted through multiple long gaming sessions before needing to be charged (which was also a helpful suggestion to get off the computer). Noise canceling performance is adequate; keyboard noises tend to slip through, but it keeps out fan noise which is my main concern. I would not recommend this for daily usage on the go with your phone. The case is extremely annoying to open, you basically need both hands to open it. It's also pretty large and cumbersome. The controls are horrible; coming from AirPods with swipe controls for volume, here you need to tap four times for a single volume change. The Armoury Crate application refused to work on my Android phone, and installing it on my PC required multiple reboots to complete. Hybrid Multipoint is also a bit of a miss, it tends to get stuck on the 2.4 GHz dongle even when nothing is playing from that source so it doesn't automatically switch over to the connected Bluetooth device's audio. Traditional Bluetooth multipoint seemed to work okay between two devices.

I love them, with some small caveats
I have not used the microphone yet and will update when I do, but so far these are fantastic. The sound quality is great, they do not irritate your ears after extended wear, and the battery life is incredible. I listened to two full Critical Role sessions at 2x speed and still had ~50% charge left on Bluetooth (I was not using the LE connection either). Cons: Not worth removing a star, but the tap controls are terrible. Tap the left earbud twice for ANC controls, the right for advancing the song. Three taps on the left does I forget what and on the right it does the standard rewind. And then there's the really questionable one: 4 taps left to lower the volume and on the right to raise it? And if you slip up, you are pausing, skipping songs, or rewinding accidentally? I'll just stick to putting my hand in my pocket and adjusting the volume by touch directly on my phone. Another knock on the controls, but not exclusive to these: it is way too sensitive and thus too easy to accidentally pause your audio. Just stop trying to force and cram these "features" onto these things, or at least give a way to disable or edit them. Neutral: I get that Asus is known for their ROG gaming setups and that gaming is still synonymous with LEDs, but they just don't interest me. It's minor, but installing Armoury Crate to disable something that I frankly find silly is, itself, silly. Not a knock on Asus so much as the entire absurd "gamer" aesthetic. Would be nice if there were an easier way to control them without the awful app because there are times when I think it could be genuinely useful on the earbuds. Also, no fault of theirs, but as long as the mic is good on SpeedNova then I have no need for my G522 headset and well be returning it. I love that headset and its mic is fantastic, but they are not as versatile as these earbuds and I cannot justify the cost of having both.

(Edit: RETURNED) PRETTY, but DUMB. Probably Returning
(UPDATE: Dec 8th, 2025; I'm returning these after 2 days. The battery life is a flat out LIE. Again, every single additional feature they have was turned OFF! [which begs the question why pay $220 USD for headphones that HAVE to be made as dumb as cheap sets to be usable? "You shouldn't," that's the answer]. With every thing off, it was only 3.5 hours of headset life by DAY TWO (2). And the case would be at 100% when earbuds were placed in them. The earbuds were depleted to 25~%, and a single recharge depleted the case to 30% from 100. NOPE. RETURNED.) These look great, there's no question about that. But there's several small things, and a few BIG problems that disqualify them from being actually good. There's a review up near the top that says the case is hard to open. That person is right, and yes it's minor, but having to find a specific way to hold a case to let it open is stupid. The way it's designed ends up meaning that most of the intuitive/natural/common sense ways of holding the case mean that you'll be holding the lid down against the base. I promise, I'm not infomercial style overacting with the video. Opening it one handed is not really any easier for all the same reasons. For me the worst is that I didn't check the touch control list because I was excited for a Black Friday deal. But 4 touches to decrease volume is BAD DESIGN. One of the main features of Bluetooth devices is that you can get up and walk away from thecontrolling device that has 1 Touch volume controls. I'm using this with a PS5 so there's no easy volume control. These headphones also reset the volume EVERY time they go into the case, and the default is massively loud. I spend the first 30 seconds jabbing my left ear 16 times to turn down the volume 4 levels. Yeah, volume control takes 4 taps (FOUR)... The battery life is terrible. I turned off ALL the extras. RGB: OFF. ANC: OFF. DIRAC: OFF: Surround Sound: OFF. I was getting about 4.5 to 5 hours of headphone life. The case is not providing more than 2 charges worth before depleting its reserve. The guide ROG gives says I should get 11.5 hours out of the headphones this way. It's less than half that duration. Anyway, then there's the app. When I connect by Bluetooth to my phone, the phone sees the headphones and case no problem. The app does not. Refresh the device list and they show up. However, accessing the controls takes between 5 and 40 seconds. EVERY time. Even if you JUST loaded the control panel, if you exit and want to go back, it has to load again... It's small but it's stupid. So Bluetooth connectivity is not great. The dongle however, seems to work as intended, and the latency is truly low. Now the RGB is gorgeous. There's no denying that. The colours of the LEDs are bright, and the colours are crisp (they truly do make me happy, which is why it sucks I HAVE to have them off to use them for more than a short while). The sound is fine, but as I said above, it claims to do surround sound/3D sound but does not. The latency is low enough. They also fit well enough. They use an oval shaped design that seems to work well for me. So there's that at least. I didn't find them uncomfortable, but I've never gotten to wear them for more than 4 hours, so... Overall, I got these on discount at $180 USD, and I don't think they're worth that much. I will probably return these even though they're so pretty (breaks muh heart! Lol). But at full price of $220 USD... No. Definitely not worth the price.

Absolutely Worth It — Best Wireless Gaming Earbuds I’ve Used!
I was honestly surprised by how good these ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless SpeedNova earbuds turned out to be. I use them mainly for PC and PS5 gaming, but they’ve quickly become my go-to for everything — gaming, music, and even phone calls. Sound Quality: The sound is crystal clear and perfectly balanced. Bass is strong and punchy without being overwhelming, and the mids and highs are crisp. Whether it’s footsteps in a game or a bass drop in a song, everything sounds rich and detailed. Latency & Performance: The SpeedNova 2.4GHz wireless connection is incredible — zero noticeable lag. It honestly feels like a wired connection. I can easily switch between 2.4GHz (for gaming) and Bluetooth (for my phone), which is super convenient. Comfort & Fit: They’re lightweight, comfortable, and stay in place even during long sessions. The included ear tips give a nice seal for passive noise isolation. Noise Cancellation & Battery: The Active Noise Cancellation works really well, blocking out most background noise without that “pressure” feeling some earbuds have. Battery life is also impressive, and the case supports both USB-C and wireless charging. Extras: The Armoury Crate app lets you customize EQ settings and check battery levels easily. I also like the subtle RGB lighting on the case — a nice touch without being too flashy. Final Thoughts: ASUS really nailed it with these. Between the amazing sound, low latency, comfort, and premium build, these are hands down some of the best gaming earbuds you can buy. If you want something that performs great for both gaming and everyday use, don’t hesitate — these are absolutely worth it!

Gaming focus only.
I came here to blast this product Into oblivion. My initial experience was not as expected. But after I stepped back and used these for what they are made, I had a change of heart. Using these as your daily drivers is not a good idea. The sound was tinny and poor on my iPhone. I downloaded the app it suggested and I was able to make them sound better but I quickly realized that it’s not the product I was frustrated with but the software. After reading several reviews and my own tinkering and exploration I knew where my frustrations stemmed. The Armory Crate app is a terrible piece of engineering. It’s bloatware to the max. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Back to the reason I bought them. I game quite a bit on Android based handhelds and I wanted a set of earbuds that would have less latency and good noise cancellation. These earbuds do this very well. And for the sale price they were a good deal. The quality is good as is the fit. And the latency is very minimal compared to my daily Bluetooth headphones. After changing my focus on these earphones to only gaming I feel much better about them. They pair with my devices including my laptop well. But understand that they do not pair if they are connected to another device. They will not disconnect on their own like my sound core phones will when I connect to a different device. Also, the software intended to be used with them will not work on my android device. Several permissions need to be changed but even after doing everything the app asked it still did not see my earbuds. Strangely it works on iPhone. Why these get a 3 star. Overall they do what they are made to do. Gaming. Other than the terrible software there’s the design of the case and the touch controls. I don’t understand why they chose the shape they did but the case is hard to hold and difficult to open without dropping it. I’ve noticed that all earbuds now come in silky smooth cases with openings that require fingernail manipulation to open. I nearly drop it every time I try to open them. That needs to stop. The touch controls work but each bud controls different aspects and have no universal pause or stop. Only one of the buds do that. And there is no volume control that I’ve found. Now back to the software. After doing some digging, this software is invasive, power hungry and poorly engineered. I read review after review of its poor use case. I could not get it working on android but it worked on my iPhone and my laptop. On my laptop the app records all your system data and even asks to record your vocal inputs. It also uses a lot of resources for what little it is supposed to do. I recommend not ever using it. I’m removing it from all my devices. If you are buying these earphones for gaming only I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. But don’t expect them to be your everyday use device.

Best set of wireless earbuds out there!
This set of earbuds is a game-changer for wireless gaming! I used to use Bluetooth earbuds all the time because I despise using something with a wire, but then I started to notice the latency between in-game and the audio. I found these earbuds, and they fixed that problem entirely! The fact that I can connect them to my computer with the wireless dongle and use the Bluetooth feature to connect them to my phone simultaneously is so functional and convenient. The battery life is phenomenal! After months of use almost daily, they still hold up for at least 4 hours outside of the case with RGB on, and I rarely ever have to charge the case! They have really good bass for earbuds, and the sound picture is above average! I love that the case has wireless charging as well! On top of all this, they are a beautiful set of earbuds with fully customisable RGB!
