Are the utensils dish washer safe?

Yes they are. They are very nice and really help when you have tremors.

Is the larger spoon a tablespoon and the smaller spoon a teaspoon?

More or less, yes. But I would say that these are not really properly weighted to do much good. And the spoons are so flat they don't do much good either. My father only used them a few times and then preferred not to as they did not help with his tremors. The PT laughed and said that this is false advertising....they are nowhere what they should be to help with tremors. Probably useful perhaps for arthritis but the weighted idea for tremors is very misleading and ineffective.
