Does this item come with a pin or do you use the existing pin

You will use the existing pin. If it is lost or broken, replace with a hardened steel pin measuring 30mmL x 5mmDia.

I have had no luck removing the lock nut. Is it left-hand thread, or right-hand thread? Thank You

Hello Pal63, this is a standard right hand thread (right to tighten. left to loosen). It is torqued to 53ftlbs so it takes some effort. As in our video on YouTube (RS800 CVT Transmission) the tool is put on top of the pin that goes through the input shaft so you can put a wrench on it. Pliers or Vice grips will mar the input shaft and the pulley may get hung up on any marks made by them. Thanks, Rick

Is the driven tool needed for the rs400

Definitely need this to remove pulley

Didn’t purchase this at first and then realized that I needed to remove the main pulley to install the replacement drive kit. Shipping was fast though. And it worked like a charm.

Works well, but a bit expensive

This was the only tool that worked for removing my pulley from the spindle on my lawnmower's General Transmissions RS800. It worked as advertised. Sadly, I will probably only need to use this once or twice in my life as I don't see the need to remove my lawnmower's transmission again. When I purchased this it was $13.89 which seems a little high for a piece of molded metal and it took 7 days to deliver. 5-star for me would be half that price and 2-day shipping!
