Worked but failed. Amanzon is replacing. Update.
It functioned wonderfully for all of two days then stopped working. It was a refurbished Fire TV Cube 3. Sadly it had to be returned. Amazon is kindly sending a new one. The service is excellent. It is much appreciated. Update. The new one has functioned very well. Once it was set up it has been great and easy enough my brain damaged combat vet husband is able to view all he desires, which gives me good time to attend to other chores. The ethernet port has made a world of difference. It has been, thus far, a good investment.

A large drive will not work.
Works great, but will not play anything on a hard drive, will not scan what's on it.

Excellent product after many issues with Amazon Support.
We’ve had Cubes Gen 1 for years and started having issues with buffering when streaming. I ordered a Like New Gen 3 for better connectivity. When setting up the new cube I couldn’t setup Equipment Control because setup said the included remote wasn’t compatible. I am a retired IT person and tried for hours trying to get the remote paired. I tried Chat for support but the support person couldn’t help so he called and we still couldn’t get the remote paired. He asked me to use the Call Me for support from the next level of support. I did several times over several days but never received a callback. I finally sought support online (not Amazon) and found a way to pair the remote and get Equipment Control to work. When finally getting everything working I find the Gen 3 to be very good.

Always a great device!
Despite being open-box or refurb, you won't know compared to new that this device is any different. Works as it's supposed to and even feels snappier (I'm upgrading from a first generation Cube to this. While it's plainly explained in the product description, don't forget to upgrade to a high-speed HDMI cable as you might get confused with flickering when using this version of the Fire Cube and it's because it doesn't support older generations of HDMI cables. Otherwise, I'm enjoying to increased menu speed and solid display of 4K streaming (if your show or movie plays in that format). Worth every cent for this version. Recommended.

Works great, and plays well...
Everything was exactly like new condition, wow. Packaged perfectly. Setup was extremely easy since i just link it to my Amazon account. This actually works better than what i expected. I have it connected to my 6E wifi and the speeds and applications work fine. I actually got this to replace another higher price streaming device that i was having issues with. The picture and streaming quality are very good. I have Dolby vision and Atmos and the apps all seem to work and play them without any issues. This cube does not seem to have as many annoying pop ups and notifications either, but everything works and plays well. So i can recommend buying a refurbished like i have, it works just like new......thanks a bunch

Fire Cube with AI not up to Alexa Standards-Problematic
Had to exchange a fire cube gone bad and got this one which was the latest model with AI 8/2025 This fire cube suddenly began to have an issue with the volume automatically turning down to being barely audible. As of this review 4/4/2026 the (+) button will now not increase the volume and we can barely hear it. I can't recommend this item. We should not be having these issues in only 8 months! We have many Alexa devices in our home and they are fine. It seems the Fire Cube however is not up to Amazon Alexa standards.
