Review: Great product - I've been a user of the caffeinated product for years and generally start off each day with two "long pull" double espressos. Based on reviews, I decided to try the decaf product. It is great! But be careful, both products are shipped in the same external red box package. The only difference is a grey tape around the decaf product. Updated 5/23/18... desertcart has been out of this for awhile and I've been really missing this product. It's as good as any caffeinated espresso without the caffeine. Love this product... it's now back in stock and I have 2 shipments on the way!
Review: Best ever - I have been using Lucafe ESE pods for a long time with great satisfaction and then had to switch to decaf. I tried every brand I could find, a couple were okay, but none came close to Lucafe. I really don’t think anyone could tell they were drinking decaf.

## Features

- The only 100% Arabica pod in Decaf
- Works with most espresso machines that have an ESE pod adapter
- Individually wrapped for freshness
- Does not work with espresso machines that use plastic or aluminum capsules
- Decaf 100% Arabica blend can't even beleve it's decaf

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How is this coffee decaffeinated? Do they use chemical, water, or CO2 process?**
A: There are generally four solvents of decaffeination: water, ethyl acetate, carbon dioxide, and dichloromethane. If you go to the Pod Merchant web site and read POD Cast # 25, you will get the full explanation. The majority of coffee decaffeination uses either a non-toxic solvent (water, CO2), a relatively non-toxic solvent (ethyl acetate), or the chemical dichloromethane, which is certain to evaporate before consumption, and at any rate, by law is held to very low concentrations in coffee roasted in Italy. I called on this brand and the coffee is decaffeinated in Italy before shipment by the ethyl acetate method.

**Q: will this work in my Caffe Gagia Espresso Machine?**
A: I have a Breville, the coffee came out like tea with the pods. I first though it was my maker, then the cold water. Finally i cjanged back to my grounds. The pods filter seems to be to strong to process the coffee. Not sure about your machine. It was too late to return. Lost 100.00 for reg and decaf. Hope this helps in making a decision.

**Q: My friends like this and want me to get a caffinated version of this. Which of the other Lucaffe coffee taste like this?**
A: It's the Mr. Exclusive 100% Arabica pod the packet is in Black with the same guy dressed with tie and hat.

### ⭐ Flavor is not good.
*by J***A on August 4, 2025*

Not good decaf espresso. I've tried a lot of different ones and saw the high ratings on this, so decided to buy. Threw them out after a couple of tries. Flat, no crema, very light.
