Can this magnet find metal studs in 3/4" wall?

I would recommend the 54lb pull strength for that thickness of a wall, although the 18lb magnet may do the job.

Can this be used for stud finder behind tile wall in shower ?

It can but only on thinner walls. Best to get something a little stronger. Something around 40lb pull strength should do the trick.
